Azarinth Healer - Book One - Out 1st of December

Been a long time in the works. Editing and rewriting those early bits were rough, I tell ya. But Book One of Azarinth Healer is almost ready, and will release on the 1st of December on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited. Here’s the link for pre-order: https://geni.us/Azarinth
I will go into more detail on the release post when the time comes, but it’s been enlightening to work with my editor Brook. I had tried to clean up and edit those early sections of Azarinth a few times in the past four years but it always felt overwhelming. I needed help, and I got it.
Of course, the core story elements and characters were present, but to me, a lot of it felt unfocused, the characterization shallow, the world still in its infancy, without any of the worldbuilding shining through (because I made a lot of shit up on the spot). Let alone my technical writing skill. I suppose there was a charm to it at the time, back when Royalroad wasn’t quite as competitive and massive as it is today, but for a real book release, I wanted it to be cleaned up big time.
Ilea is the same Ilea that we know, but she feels more grounded to me now, her actions and decisions make more sense, as do her emotions. Same for many of the other characters and the world itself. The readability and flow both in technical aspects and pacing should be improved a ton as well, without losing the chill/journey vibe that I really like. And I made sure to put in a bunch of easter eggs for anyone who’s read the original version already :).
Oh, and the audiobook for the first book is done as well. Andrea Parsneau essentially became Ilea for this one, so if you’re interested in that, stay tuned. I can’t share any release date info on that yet as we are still working a couple of things out.
So yeah, book 1 is up for preorder now. If you do get it, I’d love to hear what you think :).

I think it has the Azarith vibe, the blue runes, the monster and risking her life. Though I don’t really see that person as Ilea or female. Maybe for future covers have a shot of her face showing an emotion (like a smirk with her eyes concentrating or her laughing while flipping over a monster or even her eating amazing meals over her kills post battle)

Yaaaaay! Thanks for making an audiobook version and for choosing such a great narrator! I can’t wait to listen and share with my friends who struggle with reading <3 you are the bestest! I like the cover, I’m not sure what creature it is on the cover though from early in the story? A Wyvern? Kind of looks like that sort of creature. It’s a super dramatic and catchy image, but for some reason it doesn’t feel like Ilea and have the Azarinth vibe IMO. I could feel differently after I see it later, but I’ve left and returned days later to look and it doesn’t feel right to me. I love this story and unfortunately I judge books by their cover and I want this great story to be representative of it while marketing it well…

Way more, I think, as I suspect there's some sort of book size limit from Audible if not KU itself. I just hope that unlike other authors, Rhaegar is able to find breakpoints that make sense for the story.

Thank you for compiling the unedited chapters! I was one of the people that asked if you could put them together, and I really appreciate it. I will still get the published (audio)book of course, but this way we can still have good 'ol nostalgic rough around the edges Ilea. Azarinth Healer was the first webnovel I ever read back in college, and like many others it inspired me to try writing myself eventually. I hope the release of the book is as popular as it deserves, and great choice for the narrator!

One, that's a biiiiig Drake. Two. Who plays her when Amazon Prime wants to pick it up as a series, lol. Actually, the biggest problem with that would be how to do the litrpg parts. Would you pop up a window on the screen every time she levels something or checks her status? How long would you leave it up. Half the audience (assuming you didn't lose them just for having a popup) would want you to get it out of the way faster because they were done reading, the others would be "Hey, wait, I'm not done yet, lol.

I think, for new reader marketing, it's good to have a visceral combat scene on the cover to make clear that she's not a "healer" who hides in the back as a support.

Not possible unless Amazon changes their policy, which is extremely unlikely. Kindle demands exclusivity, which is why they are such a cancer upon the book retail scene.

Thank you for the PDFs/epubs! Much appreciated, this way I don't have to collect those chapter's PDFs myself. The rest sadly just isn't for me. I'll be dead in the ground before I support Kindle, and I just hate audiobooks. Don't ask me why, I just either get bored or annoyed with them. Especially when I already know the story and all those characters already have certain voices, accents and speech patterns inside my own head.

I am so used to the original cover art that this one does not really resonate with me. It looks generic macho guy-ish. I mean, shouldn't it accent at least a little bit the female lead? The azarinth runes look really nice and the monster she's fighting is way more badass than anything I remember Ilea killing in the beginning, the only thing about the cover is that I couldn't tell you if that was Ilea or not, hmm I'll have to do a re-read.
