Book One is out :)
🕑 Added 2022-12-01 17:00:18 +0000 UTCIt’s time. Book One is out today :).
Paperback, Kindle, and Kindle Unlimited (Alternative link if the others don't work).
The audiobook performed by Andrea Parsneau will release in one week, on the 8th of December (but you can pre-order it now on Audible).
I think I went into more detail with the pre order announcement than I had initially intended, so I’ll try to keep this one short (I will annoy you again on the 8th anyway :P). If you want to get Book One, it’s there, and I’d love to hear what you think of the fixed up version :).
No matter if you get it or not, please consider leaving a review or rating on amazon either way if you enjoyed the story (you can leave a review without purchasing), it helps a lot with the algorithm stuff so more people see it, and I’d really appreciate it :). More exposure and sales benefit not only me and the passionate folks at Portal Books, but also Royalroad itself.
That’s it for now. Really happy the book is finally out. In its proper and final form.
And as always, thank you for reading.

Excellent work on the audio book. Loved every second of it only issue I had was the narrator would say how many question marks there are, makes it harder to distinguish what our esteemed Lilith is going up against.

Yeah, I wrote that strange up there, but I was surprised when her healer class didn't evolve at 100 only her fire one. I mean it's super long ago that I read that part thus I don't know anymore if that used to be like that. Between 500-1000 isn't any evo.

If I remember right, it was around levels 100, 200, 300, 500, 750, and most recently, 1000. Pretty sure she was just super-leveling her skills pre-100 and didn't end up with any evos. Fire-enhancer class evolved pretty quickly though...

Reading the chapters again after so many years is amazing. Got one question tho. Has it always been the case that her Azarinth Healer class didn't evolve once between lvl 1 and 100? While re-reading the book that appears to be super strange right now?

Also, the book is huge

Already preordered the audible book. Can’t wait

Here's what it looks like in direct comparison: https://imgur.com/a/AMMVULM Still very happy I was able to get it as a print version after all, since the original announcements always just mentioned the Kindle and the audiobook. Odd that you don't have yours yet, I'd have thought you'd have gotten the very first books off the printing press.

Sorry to hear about that and thanks for the mention. I'll have a chat with them. Yet to get my own books.

So my print copy arrived today. You might want to have a word with your publisher because whoever they hired for printing fucked it up, probably not considering the material it is printed on - your beautiful cover image comes out a lot darker on the printed version, and a lot of detail is either lost or a lot less visible. Looks almost like looking at the image through a slight fog, too.

I definitely wanted to order the paperback as well. But not at that price point.

Finished it last night, really good updates to the original, the introduction is so much smoother. Agree with a few other comments that some of the changes didn’t seem required (peeping Tom and maybe with the bow, but perhaps that will have meaning later on the in the books). Awesome read and can’t wait for the next.

Just finished up, and a much improved first arc to the story. The well edited clean up of the writing and all the little changes in events made a big difference when all taken together. The one that really stood out to me was the dialog and implied motivation of the elves that attacked Riverwatch. My only gripe, and its very minor, is I just didnt see the point in changing the way a few little things happened, like the peeping tom in the bath at the school in Dawntree. But hey, at least Agors friend gets their bow!

Congrats

Not to far yet, but Im noticing alot of little changes in scenes. Like her friend not grabbing her during orientation and the sparring golems/statues in the chamber under the temple. Removing unnecessary bits and adding in others to make things a bit more fleshed out has really improved things. Props to the editor.

Price may be due to it likely being print on demand.

Reading it again. Good so far except horde used instead of hoard. The spelling nazi in me goose stepped around my brain for a minute. 😉

Major congratulations! Also I'm sure you've done the math but its absolutely wild that if the book size stays consistent you'll have something like 12-13 books when you're done!

Pre-ordered audiobook :)

Thanks for the hard copy option.

Right Finished that, when is the next one out? In all seriousness though, it reads much better than the early chapters used to, while no bits stood out as being obviously different (it has been about two years since I last read this part) I do remember finding the first 50 or so chapters a bit hard going which isn't the case now at all so great job on fixing it up. And again when is the next bit coming out? :P

When did that print copy suddenly appear? I thought it was only supposed to be the kindle and the audiobook versions? And when I checked the pre-order I certainly did not see it. Very happy that there is a physical copy now as well. Already ordered that, even if it is on the quite pricey side for a soft cover - in my region, an usual price for a book with that page count and soft cover would be around 40-55% of what this book costs - and that is for translated volumes where you also pay the translator. This one is more in the region of a hardcover, or slightly below it. Not complaining, just mentioning it. As I said, it is already ordered.

Congrats, I hope they sell well.

Brent Heustess
Yep, my pre-order copy showed up on my Kindle app this morning. My own copy and not some KU loan. I have KU but bought myself a permanent copy. I would really love a print copy to add to my shelves.

It's the trakarov

Cold Ramen
Congrats! Got it on KU and can't wait to get it on Audible. :) Cheers!
Eleeyah
Got it on KU. :) I'll read it once I'm done with my current series. Hasn't been long since I binged through the entirety of the currently available Azarinth Healer saga, so I'll have an accurate idea of how the book compares. :D
Tron
Paperback?! Awesome, buying this for myself and some friends. Congrats 🎉
Roland Thelefty
Ooooh baby! stoked for the audio book! A good choice for the narrator as well
Gardor
Hey why is the cover for book one, in which she's scared in the woods fighting big lizards, instead a scene that seems to be from chapter 1000, when she's clad in ash armor and fighting a dragon?
Tom Roettger
Ordered the paperback edition since I love AH so much. Good to have on the shelf years from now.
Antoine Triani
I'll get the paper back just to have it in my library

Can’t wait for the audiobook. Andrea is one of my favorite narrators and I can’t wait to hear what she does with source material
