In the episode, Stefan actually says "I didn't know about Jonathan Gilberts ring yet" For some reason, a lot of reactors miss that π

In Angel 2x9 you asked what is the best spinoff I believe The orignals is the best spinoff

I think itβs not unreasonable to believe that Luka told his dad what happened to him after the fact.

That's Jeremy's personality he is a little over the top about everything.

I think they are even referred to as a Gilbert family ring or something like that at some point.

all of the unexpected twists make this episode a 9 imo. this show also does a good job of applying the rules of their lore to every situation and this episode definitely showcases that. it sets up a lot of the vampire rules that become important throughout the series.

Johnathan Gilbert was able to write about his own death in that journal because he had a ring like Alaricβs that brought him back from the dead lol
