Yeah, I agree that this episode is weird. I always hate when TV shows do a pilot to another show within a show, they always are my least favorite episode of the show. I hate that they left Jess off on such a bad note for this season and hurt Rory for the sake of doing this show and expand on Jess and then it doesn’t even happen. Can’t believe season 3 is coming to an end already. I’m excited for you to get to season 4 and see how you feel. Honestly, for me it sometimes feels like the next part is like a whole new show.

I didn't realize (despite having seen this series about a hundred times!) that we have one more episode of season 3! Damn, this flew by!

The thing with the light, there used to be a stop sign there. It was Taylor’s idea to install that traffic light. Everyone was against it especially Luke. And then Taylor had the red light timed for the oldest person in Stars Hollow. To be able to make it across the street before it turned green. That’s why that light takes so long.

The woman who plays Miss Celine, the clothes lady, also played Drella, the sarcastic woman who played the harp in the lobby of the Independence Inn in the first season. Her name is Alex Borstein and she's married in real life to the guy who plays Jackson and I believe she was originally cast as Sookie and filmed the pilot, but her contract from another show didn't allow to keep going in that role so Melissa McCarthy stepped in.

Mariella Nilsson

My absolute least favourite episode!

Also, regarding how they found out about the money, I'm pretty sure when you apply for financial aid, you're supposed to disclose any extra income you've received in a certain time frame or something to that effect.
