Beth for some reason had become my favorite character in the show, I stopped watching after this.

great reaction, yeah I was completely shocked when this aired, Lauren Cohen, Norman Reedus & Andrew Lincolns performances to Beths death were phenomenal, also there was a post credit scene to this episode

Coda is a term in music signifying the end of a piece, or section of a piece. In this instance I think it fits as it’s the mid season finale. Perhaps more, it was the end of Beth’s journey, and she was also very musically inclined.

I've seen this ep a few times now and it shows Beth knew Dawn was only about saving herself and using others--just like the crooked officers. I have to suspect thats why Dawn was luring the officer to the elevator; so that she could STILL have Beth do the kill. Dawn wouldnt admit it but she was treating these kids like slaves and beating on them for small things. If this were a different show, I'd call Dawn a psychopath; for being unstable and violent. Ultimately, I dont know how much Beth considered the ramifications of stabbing Dawn but i think she knew Dawn would react and kill her. But i think she also knew her people would kill Dawn in retaliation.
