Technically at first, when this came out. It wasn't part of the MCU. Ike Perlmutt who was the person in charge of Marvel on TV. Kevin Feige who is God said no, netflix shows are their own thing. Even though Ike tried to allude to events that happened in the film. It was never officially in the same universe.... until now.
