Yeah it's possibly due to her pregnancy also she technically is invincible right now so it can really get that dark. Basically the eyes have it I about as dark as you can get really with her. You essentially have to make the darkness paige or Phoebe based.

This season does feel a bit lighter, less intense, I wonder if it's intentional as you say, they don't need to kill the source yet again, but plenty of ways to introduce darker storylines. Maybe it's the Pipers pregnancy, new life coming into Charmed world that stories surrounding that will naturally be more cheerful

I think to me at least Season 5. I think trying to be different because they have technically killed the source of all evil twice last season. You Can't Exactly do that again this season, so this season I think it's trying to keep it light.

You said you don't blame him for what he did :) Yes, Cole is not a good guy, but he's making these big claims of being changed, that he's no longer evil...he spent enough time around the sisters to know they would never be ok with killing a human and even though it's natural for him to kill, logically he had to know this was an evil act and stop pretending he is a good guy

Yes, but from Cole's perspective? He's not a good guy. He's used to murder and I think for him this is a justifiable action when Phoebe is "in danger". So I get why he did it. Phoebe won't, clearly, because they're all for saving people.

Cole impulsively killed a human being 😂 that shouldn't be taken so casually. It's not like it was a last resort kind of thing, there could be so many other ways of stopping him from exposing the girls. Besides the sisters learned they are meant to the innocent and not punish the guilty long time ago, that travel to the future episode where Phoebe was about to be executed for killing someone.. dangling someone and threatening them is not even close to murder imo

I think the masks made them feel like what they were doing as superheroes (like dangling a human off a roof) was a good thing to do. Hence why they had that whole taking off the mask thing. There are other non-violent ways to deal with that slumlord but I get why Cole did it and I don't blame him for it either.
