Vanessa let out a slow breath, steeling herself for the meeting ahead. As an up-and-coming investigative journalist, she had spent months looking into rumors surrounding the Cyborg Corporation and their development of cutting-edge cybernetic implants. Her leads pointed to something big happening behind closed doors, though exactly what remained elusive. Today she hoped to get some answers directly from the source - Cyrus Kane, CEO and founder of Cyborg Corp.
The elevator dinged as it reached the top floor. Vanessa stepped out into a marble-floored atrium with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the cityscape far below. At the end of the hallway stood an imposing set of double doors guarded by two hulking men in dark suits. Vanessa approached with as much confidence as she could muster.
"Ms. Bell, go right in. Mr. Kane is expecting you," one of the guards intoned, holding the door open for her. Vanessa suppressed a shiver as she walked past them into Kane's sprawling office.
At the far end of the room stood the man himself, gazing out the windows with his hands clasped behind his back. He was tall and broad-shouldered, with salt-and-pepper hair and piercing blue eyes. As the door clicked shut behind Vanessa, he turned to face her with a charming yet predatory smile.
"Ms. Bell, so glad you could make it. Please, have a seat." Kane's voice was smooth and melodic as he gestured to a leather chair across from his desk. Vanessa sat cautiously, smoothing her skirt over her crossed legs.
"Let's get right to it then, shall we?" Kane continued. "I assume you're here because of the rumors surrounding Cyborg Corp's latest project?"
Vanessa nodded. "That's right. My sources indicate you're developing some kind of...enhancements. Cybernetic implants that interface directly with the human body in ways that seem ethically questionable."
Kane chuckled. "Come now, Ms. Bell. Everything we do at Cyborg Corp is strictly above board. But I'll admit, our scientists have been hard at work on a new class of implants that could revolutionize medicine." He leaned forward, his piercing gaze fixed on her. "Tell me...have you heard of Expander tech?"
Vanessa's pulse quickened. This was it - the big scoop she had been chasing for months. "No, I can't say that I have," she replied evenly.
Kane grinned. "Allow me to explain. Our Expander implants are designed to integrate seamlessly with the body's tissues to enable...controlled expansion. With the proper stimuli, the implants enlarge whatever part of the anatomy they are implanted in - safely, reversibly, and without side effects."
Vanessa's brow furrowed. "Controlled expansion? What exactly does that mean?"
"It means," Kane said, his eyes gleaming, "we can now enhance the human form in ways that were previously only imagined. For instance..." He tapped his desk console and the wall behind him became a giant monitor screen.
Vanessa gasped as an image appeared of a beautiful woman with flowing red hair, posing in lacy black lingerie that struggled to contain her most prominent assets - a pair of breasts the size of overinflated beach balls. They completely dwarfed her slender frame, jutting absurdly from her chest and defying gravity with their round, buoyant shape.

Kane turned back to Vanessa, his expression smug. "Now you see the potential. This is just the start - we envision a world where anyone can enhance and augment their bodies however they wish. Of course, all our test subjects are volunteers who undergo rigorous screening and monitoring during trials. The tech is still highly experimental, but perfectly safe in controlled conditions."
Vanessa tore her eyes away from the screen with effort, shaken by the surreal image. She knew she had to maintain professionalism and not let Kane distract her. "Your...spokesmodel certainly makes a striking first impression," she said carefully. "But I have concerns about the ethics of using untested cybernetic implants for enhancement rather than medical purposes. What are the long-term risks?"
Kane waved a hand. "Come now, don't be so uptight. The age of human augmentation is upon us! Our bodies are the last frontier to conquer and optimize. This tech will liberate people, not endanger them." He templed his fingers, regarding Vanessa thoughtfully. "In fact, perhaps a firsthand demonstration would assuage your doubts..."
Vanessa tensed. "What exactly are you suggesting?"
"Merely that we provide you with a set of Expander implants as well! Free of charge, of course. I think you'll find the experience most...educational." Kane's eyes roamed over her body in a way that made her skin crawl. "And who knows? You may decide to keep them once you've had a taste of what they offer."
Vanessa stood abruptly. "Thank you for the offer, Mr. Kane, but I really must be going." This meeting had veered into uncomfortable territory. She had enough for her expose on the shady underbelly of Expander tech - time to make her exit.
Kane rose as well, his piercing eyes boring into hers. "Of course. Feel free to reach out if you change your mind." He extended his hand.
Reluctantly, Vanessa shook it. His grip was cold and firm, lingering a moment too long before releasing her. Suppressing a shudder, Vanessa turned and strode quickly from the office. Kane's eyes followed her every step of the way.

A week later, Vanessa sat staring at her laptop screen, poised to send her completed expose on Expander tech to her editor. Her piece was thorough and well-documented, unraveling the truth behind Cyborg Corp's clandestine human augmentation agenda. But every time she went to hit Send, hesitance stayed her finger.
With a frustrated sigh, she pushed back from the desk and stood, rolling her neck to relieve the tension that had taken up residence there. Ever since the meeting with Kane, doubt had been needling at the back of her mind. Maybe she had been too hasty, too judgemental. After all, who was she to deem what people chose to do with their own bodies "unethical"?
