This is why I hate apple with a passion. They just love screwing over their customers any way they can. I switched to android and have had the same charger cable for 4+ years. Apple cables used to last me like 6 months max.

Patreon isn't the only platform that does this. In general, if you are subscribing through an iOS or Android app downloaded from the Apple or Google store, Apple or Google is taking a large cut of the transaction (15 or 30%!). Apple and Google both try to prevent users from obtaining apps outside their stores. Some platforms eat the costs and others pass it on to users, but they usually don't tell users about it. You can (and probably should) subscribe using a web browser on your phone instead of the app. It's cheaper and only hurts Apple and Google.

Ah good another decision that fucks over both artists and consumers 🙄 Thanks for letting us know, at least it only affects new subscribers for now but I hope enough people can get used to doing it on desktop instead so it doesn’t screw creators on here in the long run 😔
