Biography:
Mark Harris was born and raised in Australia. His early years were marked by a strong fascination with the skies and a desire to escape the limitations of Earth. At 18, he joined the military, quickly advancing through the ranks to become a pilot in the space reconnaissance division. His skill in aerial combat and tactical missions earned him a reputation as one of the most talented pilots in his unit.
Tragically, Mark's life took a dark turn when his younger sister became addicted to drugs, a habit introduced by local dealers. Her eventual overdose shattered Mark, leaving him the last surviving member of his family. Devastated and consumed by rage, Mark hunted down and killed the men responsible. Though many viewed his actions as justified, the military had no choice but to discharge him from service due to the unauthorized nature of his vigilante justice.
Unable to cope with the loss and his expulsion from the military, Mark turned to private work and joined MiliT, a private military contractor, as a mercenary. His combat expertise quickly earned him recognition within the organization, and after two years of service, he was transferred to a special operations group. However, on his first mission, Mark was seriously injured. During his recovery, an old comrade approached him with a unique opportunity—a fresh start as part of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) on the colonial vessel COLOS-8, which was heading toward the newly established colony on Octavia-22b.
Seeing this as a chance to leave behind his troubled past and start anew, Mark accepted. On COLOS-8, he works alongside scientists and other military personnel, handling ship maintenance, ensuring safety, and preparing for life on Octavia-22b.
Role on COLOS-8:
As an ERT soldier aboard COLOS-8, Mark is responsible for responding to emergencies, helping scientists resolve critical situations, and securing the ship’s integrity. He works closely with others in the team to address technical failures and keep the ship operational. Once the ship arrives at Octavia-22b, his primary mission will shift to providing security for the fledgling colony, ensuring its defense against external threats.
Relationship with Oni Lim:
Mark and Oni Lim have had very limited interaction during their time on COLOS-8. They first encountered each other aboard the ship during the chaotic events. Their meeting was brief, with little conversation exchanged between them. Due to the crisis on the ship, they’ve had no opportunity to develop a personal rapport, and their relationship remains neutral. As of now, their connection is purely circumstantial, and they have yet to form any deeper understanding of each other.
Sexual Orientation:
Mark identifies as heterosexual, though romance or personal relationships are not currently his focus, as he remains driven by duty and the need to reconcile his past actions.
