Between your love of barista made beverages and the feelings you get when you’re around your furry little friends, you really couldn’t submit your job application fast enough.
They called you back within a couple hours of your submission, much to your absolute delight. They asked if you could come in for an interview and said, perhaps, you could start that very night.
You arrived at the cafe, it was so elegantly decorated.
There was a mural on the wall, showing good kittens and puppies being equally celebrated.
You approached the counter and announced your arrival.
The manager looked you up and down, then gave you an approving smile.
“Look at you, you’ll fit right in!”
The manager said with a playful grin.
They motioned for you to follow and you did so without thought.
Being led to the back, where your new position would be taught.
You enquired as to why you had not spotted any pets.
The manager assured you, “Don’t worry, we’re not open yet.”
The manager asked you if you knew your collar size.
Mumbling something about your uniform, with a gleam in their eyes.
They sat you down in front of a video screen, the manager pressing play.
So began your orientation, where you would learn how to obey…
Good pets are adorable.
Good pets are kind.
Good pets listen.
Good pets don’t mind.
Good pets have owners.
Good pets need rules.
Good pets wear collars.
Good pets aren’t fools.
Good pets will follow.
Good pets obey.
Good pets will do,
Whatever we say.
You are a pet, you love to serve.
You’re such a good girl, this is what you deserve.
Your cute little ears, your playful tail.
Obey your owner and you’ll never fail.
Wear your collar, with so much pride.
Your owner’s hand will be your guide.
Soft and fluffy, as cute as they get.
You’re such a good girl, you’re a good pet.
