Oh So Hero! Patron Update 2025-06-01

Thank you all for supporting us and making the launch of Oh So Hero! possible~ While this is only the first act in Joe's story, it has taken many years of work to reach this point. We've learned a lot and improved a lot, and I am optimistic that development on future acts will be even better!
We are here with an update for patrons/substars to address some issues and provide more information following the release of Oh So Hero! Act 1!
v1.01 - Message from Ket:
The v1.01 build is a very smol bug fix build. You'll probably only want to download this if you haven't already grabbed the v1.00 build. I considered delaying for more fixes, but I already committed to releasing a bug fix build before the end of May.
I've been busy all this week helping players with various things: answering questions, collecting error logs, sending out Steam keys, etc. That's on top of all the promotional work that was overdue from release (and we're not even done yet!).
Due to all this extra work, I'll need to slow down to a two-week build cadence going forward, which will pack more improvements into each build.
Steam Keys - Two parts to this; please read both:
1. If you are eligible for a Steam key and still have not received one, please send us a direct message on Patreon/Substar and mention you are missing your Steam key. Please, do not message us on Discord for your Steam key, do not email us for your Steam key, and do not use the Credits & Perks form for your Steam key going forward. We apologize for the mixed messaging up until now, but in the past couple weeks, we've learned that the fastest and easiest way to deliver your missing Steam key is through a Patreon/Substar DM. This is because it provides us with an instant look at your profile including your donation history and contact info. If we need any more info from you, we'll ask you in the Patreon/Substar DM. (If you are not currently a member on Patreon, you can use the "Join for free" button to join up and message us. Also, if you previously sent Ket or Red a Discord message, please include your Discord username in your Patreon/Substar DM so we can keep track; we sometimes close Discord messages by accident and then they get lost.)
2. There's a known problem where some people who are just now obtaining their Steam keys through Keymailer emails are getting a message saying the Steam key is expired. We never intended for the keys to expire, and need to find out why this is happening. We've already contacted Keymailer for help. Please allow us a few days to get a response from Keymailer support staff. Once we figure out what the problem is and determine a course for correction, we will reach out to all of you who are patiently awaiting your keys! Sorry for the delay~ (By the way, you do not need to create a Keymailer account to get a key. If your email or its associated link says you need one, this is an error on Keymailer's part. Do not create a Keymailer account. Please wait for us to get this fixed.)
Dev Progress - More from Ket:
Development previews will return sometime in June, and will focus on Act 1 post-launch content.
Red and Arty are preparing some visual improvements in the way of new art and animations. This could take a couple weeks. As always, I'll be adding their work into the game as soon as they have it finished. Good art takes time!
I got plenty more bug fixes to do, but Localization is my big task for this coming month. I want more people around the world to enjoy the game. Plenty of potential contributors are lined up to help with the actual text translation, but I need more time for the programming to set it up.
Act 2 content (e.g., Nuzzle, Grand Coastal Caverns) and the roadmap for future acts are things we want to get to after finishing all necessary follow-up work on Act 1. We'll let you all know when we have news ready on that front.

The builds here on Patreon should be able to co-exist with the Steam builds. They are technically separate builds because of the Steamworks code being exclusive to Steam.

So I’ve got kind of a weird question. I found you guys through steam when it suggested the game. I love it, but do I need to un download that to use your builds with the bug fixes etc. or is that also released on steam as an update?
