Design question

reasons for A:
-the horns being curved down gives a more "docile" type of look, making him look more friendly or approachable.
-The ears being upright gives more cat-like or dog-like appearance, and will have the same type of mobility when expressing emotions
reasons for B:
-the horns being upright have a more menacing look, but it could contrast well with his more friendly personality
-the ears being on the side is more bovine, or even goblin like, which could still be expressive, but they would still be overshadowed by the horns.

B, more defined silhouette and the example A has some tangential lines that make the design less clear.

I guess it depends on what you want the character to be. Friendly? Menacing? A menacing looking but otherwise friendly individual?

B is the winner for me. The ears to the side + the shape of the horn gives him a more fantastical look overall. You also mentioned the contrast element which I agree with. "The intimidating look holds a friendly heart".

B. There's a more interesting silhouette with it. I think his expressiveness can combat the menacing features. And the gobbo-ears make him look more like a different species than weird wolf thing.

I’m a fan of A, it’s instantly readable that he’s friendly and that ear position might give you more options for expressing emotion

Aw I think A looks really nice, it does give the approach of a docile look and it works well at that. And plus I love the ears you have for A, it seems easier for portraying many expressions! However for B I do like that the horns are a bit more visible, but nonetheless id still say A personally! keep it up my man!

For all the reasons you gave, I like A most. The horns in A feel more unique and keeping the mobility of the ears is a big plus!

I wonder how a mix of a and b would be. Horns curved down but ears like B. Aside from that I really dig A as well. It's a tad more straightforward which could help with portraying the character's compassion 👍
