Darius for Doggust!
🕑 Added 2024-08-11 00:13:40 +0000 UTCSince KillianTheRoo made such an awesome piece of my Boi Cypress for Smaugust, I decided to return the favour and do one of his Dragon, Darius, but for Doggust instead 😆
I went back to a process I used to use a lot more for this one, which was to work in greyscale and then colour it using blending modes, in this case Overlay. I tend to like to do this when there are a lot of complex colour patterns on a character, that way I can focus on the forms and the patterns separately without anything getting muddy. I included a screenshot to show how that looks in terms of layers. 👍 But yeah, other than that, it was pretty straight forward with the process, and I still finished it with the same accents that I've been adding to most colour pieces since last October (Saturated complimentary colour outlines for certain areas). Overall a really fun piece to work on! 😊
