I'll be taking a break during November
🕑 Added 2018-10-18 20:28:42 +0000 UTC There's a LOT of rambling I could do in this post, so I'll try to keep it concise. ^_^;I'm sure some of you noticed that I've been slowing down more and more over the last few months and that's something I hope to remedy. If you've kept up with my DA or Tumblr, then you probably know I've been dealing with very particular motivation issues. Because of this, I'd like to take some time to really focus on myself and fix my problems without having to worry about art.
What's that gonna mean for the future? For starters, October will continue as planned, I'll be finishing the OC comic (this week), the Community Vote pic, and I'll whip up a few doodles for some of the losing options near the end of the month.
As for November, the Community Vote will still take place, but I won't be doing an OC comic. My main goal is to rekindle my interest in the things I enjoy and, for that, I think I just need some time to myself. In addition to that, I really honestly just need to sit down, practice the drawing basics, and take steps to improving my style. However, it's hard to address these things when I have several monthly obligations to fulfill.
So, I guess actually don't plan to take a break from drawing altogether, lol. In fact, you'll probably see a number of WIPs and practice doodles next month. But, the most important thing is what I'll be focusing on: improvement and practice. I feel like my work has been stale for a while now and there's definitely a lot of anatomy knowledge that I currently lack, so I want to fix that.
"This guy's a joke, I'm outta here", I hear you say. Well, there's certainly some justification to your frustration, you support me because you expect me to produce art and, well, I'm not producing. All I can say is that I'm doing what I can to fix a problem and I ask that you be patient with me while I work things out. All your support and encouragement is what enabled me to get this far and I don't want to let it go to waste.
But, if that's not good enough or you simply don't want to wait around, then I can't hold it against you if any of you decide to leave. I hope you'll support me again in the future once I'm back on track.
