Huh, my original reply isn't showing up. Not sure why. So I'll just note in short that perhaps Uchiha simply made it a common practice to take blood/flesh from Senju they fought so they could use the Izanagi.

this is one of the biggest plotholes in the show, it is said that izanagi can only be used by those with both uchiha and senju powers and then they show this flashback of a bunch of random old uchiha using izanagi.
