been watching this anime for 20 years almost and it is so damn good ive watched it several times through in addition to playing most of all the games they've released

Spearows actually merc'd him in the first episode, rest of the series is his dreams while he is in a coma for 3months until they pull the plug. Because of Ash they reformed the laws so more children wouldn't die to Poke'mon, now you have to be 21 or older to become a Poke'mon trainer.
