They explain why he wasnt at golden week in the anime though, he should really start season 2 first because this OVA isnt even Cannon anyway, not to mention it would put a pause in the flow of events right now, Karasuno just lost and season 2 continues that, so it would make more sense to follow that route instead of breaking over to Lev when he isn't even relevant yet

but when you stream haikyu again, you can ask the chat if they want ova first or later in s2 when it introduces the character, as for me, I prefer OVA 1 THE ARRIVAL OF HAIBA LEV before s2.

mostly, the third years would stop their club activites if they lose in this round, DATE TECH mentioned their 3rd years would retire after losing to karasuno in ep 16 or 17 right? Thats how things are normally done because the third years's final exams of high school is just around the corner of the spring tournament so the third years from losing teams focus on their studies instead, but our boys daichi, sugar and asahi are staying up for the spring tournament, i am so glad they continue to do so.

well I guess the ova THE ARRIVAL OF HAIBA LEV would be okay to watch after seeing the new character in season 2 since they will appear in early eps(like around 3-4). but it really doesn't matter tho, if u want to be surprised about it or not, cause I prefer this ova to be watched before season 2 ep 1 because knowing how this new character came into the scene before seeing him in s2 episode really explains a lot. But then do whatever you want Neel, I am up for any haikyu content anyway lol

the OVA "Haikyuu land vs air" don't watch that till after season 3 i think...Haikyuu!!: Lev Genzan! (OVA) Is set after season 1 but it isn't cannon and it introduces a charachter that shows up in season 2 and it will ruin the surprise. Land vs Air is the only cannon OVA and it does not take place till after season 3
