Thinker is the fool leader of the Aincrad Liberation Force that got trapped by the boss that Yui had to delete. It's understandable that you dont recognize him. We only saw him in game for a minute and were a bit busy worrying about Kirito and Asuna. The girl holding hands with him while flying was the underling that was worried about him. The other girl is the one that ran the church that was taking care of all the kids stuck in the game.

Season 3 is hands down the best part of SAO in my opinion. it tops even season 1 for me. Season 2 isn't bad either though, its still pretty fantastic, and its not disappointing at all. but it has its dull moments sometimes, its just little things that drag it down a bit.

Ggo- first part of season 2 isn’t bad, it’s simply different not in a bad way though, that’s why people’s opinions divided. You will love mother rosario imho and yeah season 3 named Alicization is a masterpiece

The security *was* in the hospital, as were the people at the counter - at least in original book Kirito talked to them, anime chose to save time on these people as it did in the end of Aincrad when Kirito came out of his room into an "empty" corridor xD On the topic of Extra Edition episode - I would say, anyone who plans on reading the books - don't skip it. It's a story in 2 halves, first half being anime only and 2nd half is book only... Which is why if you don't plan on reading SAO - you can watch or you can skip it, up to the mood really. The two guys shown to wake up in the hospital - is the same pair from episode 1 season 1, when one was posing as a girl before irl appearances were applied xD Honestly - season 2 is the strongest season to me. All of SAO is written very strong, and yes S3 by virtue of being a later stuff has more complicated story and etc. But S2 is the one to hit the sweet spot of how to actually properly adapt the books into anime. It doesn't have the problem of S1 with how it approaches inner thoughts of characters, they figured it out. They managed to do about 7 episodes per book, so detailed it is. So, naturally strong story can shine the most there. Season 3 for example, has 47 episodes adapting arc of 10 books, or 4.7 episodes per book. It's still a really good story with a ton of amazing moments, but overall I'd say S2 turned out to be the best so far. I should though say that overall stories (not speaking of anime only) I love all throughout the series equally, Whether it's Aincrad or ALO, books or Ordinal Scale movie, or the arc covered by S3 - love them all, can't say there's any week among any of them :)

To be Fair, if you like ALO part, i think the rest of the show is good. For watch order in Season 2: I think you must watch episode 15, 16, and 17 in one sit. And episode 22, 23, 24 in one sit. After season 2, i think you must watch SAO Movie Ordinal Scale before Continue to Season 3.

Alicization and GGO are the best arc honestly. ALO and end of season 2 is the below par. SAO was good just rush, Progressive movie have a better pacing honestly. if they did SAO 25episode Season and remove ALO it would been so good. same as after GGO feel like rush through the good bit to add a boring second part.

So SAO is divided by "games" more than seasons, for me, from best to worst - SAO . GGO (first game on season 2) - Alicization - ALO - Ending of season 2. Like, season 2 first part is REALLY good, second part is the worst on the entire series (My opinion, ofc)

Alicization(season 3) is peak, better than s1 imo. Gun gale online arc in s2 is underrated imo, but the rest of s2 isnt really good, but GGO is most of s2 anyways
