Galand got so scared he would rather suffer his own curse than to face Escanor. That's a terrifying thought. I mean, a Elite Demon Warrior being scared of a human, think about it, it's unheard of.

Galand had a higher power level than meliodas, but you gotta keep in mind that was base meliodas without using his demonic powers or anything. With the mark it's basically doubled

Actually I would say he is inspired by Escanor le grand of the Arthurian legends, a giant man with the same powers, who was eventually defeated by Gawain. More or less all characters in NNT have inspirations or at least namesakes in the Athurian Legends, e.g. Meliodas in the Arthurian legends was the second King of Lyonesse, husband of Elizabeth Lyxonesse, they are the parents of Tristan, one of the well known knights of the round table. Similar things go for "King Ban" and "Queen Elaine", the parents of Lancelot, probably one of if not the most well known Knight of the round table.

Escanors power was at 50.055 rising to 50.060 and still rising, basically as in the Arthurian legen his power is connected to the sun, when the sun rises he gets crazy strong and his power continues to rise from that point until noon. Also keep in mind Meliodas 32.500 was just Meliodas in his base form without using his Demon Powers. Before he got his powers back using his Demon Mark made him jump from 3370 to 4400 and when he let it all out/borderline out of control it got up to 10.300. So for Escanor to be stronger than him he needs to be that ridiculously powerful.

The thing with Meliodas is, he's going through what the 10 commandments are going through when they were just unsealed where they don't have all their power back and they started off with only 26,000. It's the same thing with Meliodas, with him starting off at 32,500. So yes as of rn Escanor is stronger than Meliodas.

Ive Been waiting soooooo loooong for this reaction specifically, finally after multiple weeks, love the escanor scene it’s what made me intrigued to watch the series cause I saw that clip when galand ran away from him

He does not body Meliodas. Meliodas is 32500 in normal state. When demon state he becomes much stronger.

Little bit of trivia, Escanor's ability was inspired by Gawain, one of the Knight of The Round table you saw in the Camelot movies ( you probably don't remember him, but it's the blond dude). His sword granted him amplified strength while the sun was out, as far as being thrice times stronger at noon or smth like that.
