the reason for it is because the original studio (Madhouse) no longer exists and there isn't really any other studios that can do this unique style of animation. if they were to do season 2 it would look completely different but honestly as long as it follows the story I don't really care

Any rumors about a new season are probably trolls. Unless we get any official confirmation about another Season, there won't be any other Season of NGNL. I don't remember well but there are great videos on YouTube why that is, it's worth checking out.
