I think the implication is that faceless guy didn't have super regeneration when he got wounded by all might. he obtained it 5 years after getting hurt which made it completely useless cuz his body already healed wrong (and then he put it in the big nomu from season 1 after that)

Ah awesome, season 3 is coming up and I have to say it's my favorite. I wish we got more than just 1 episode of Horimiya though. Same with Invincible I know you would've loved that show if you continued it after Episode 3.

Yep, All Might said he probably stayed alive for so long because he had an anti-aging quirk. That's different from regeneration or healing.

About the super regeneration quirk, what they are saying is that, 5 years ago he didnt have the super regeneration quirk. So he had to heal naturally after getting injured by all might, but they got their hands on the quirk at some point but by the time they got the quirk all for one was already mostly healed so the quirk wouldnt work as it apparently doesnt heal old wounds so the quirk wouldnt fix his body.
