To also add onto this, renjun and xiaojun unbreakable love (honestly all of renjun’s covers 😭), chenle and kun free love, and bc im jisung biased, a star for two things (he even choreographed the dance 🥹)

I'm not sure if anyone already answered this question but the recording behind where Renjun has a bit of a "breakdown" is for Smoothie. To be fair i think a number of members had breakdowns for that one lol

everytime i watch haechan during recording session it's so hard to see him as struggling because as a viewer he sounds so effortless... so talented
Alexia Gray
i need sm to give haechan a year long vacation just for this song alone... I NEED HIS THROAT TO BE HEALTHY SO HE CAN SING FOREVER 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Alexia Gray
if jisung came up with a keshi type track i WILL CRY

To answer some of you questions:I think jeno sang the first verse “you owe me sleep” while jaemin sings the second verse “I lay awake”! And the recording behind that renjun had a “breakdown” was in smoothie lolol Also I 100% agree about the emotion that renjun’s voice brings it’s so yummy I would die if he did a solo song, especially if it was an ost for a kdrama or cdrama
NeoNightBloom
im so glad all their voices found each other. they all are very different so im sure it was a choice to combine them but im glad it happened!
kawi
the behind in which renjun is having a mental breakdown is the smoothie recording behind lmaoo
Sara
i think this is exactly what you were describing hehe https://youtu.be/xff0P7hVIVk?si=pi11yz3fxaxH45mm

for your question about harmonies and adlibs its a bit of both!! i'm sure during the recording the director will let them know which harmonies they should be aiming for. during live performances though dream are known to switch up harmonies and adlibs all the time! they'll drag out notes, lower or make higher the key etc. they also do a lot of vocal stacking and harmonies live too which are different to the recorded versions. its the same for adlibs! if the rappers wrote their own verses (which they do often) they usually have more say on the kinds of adlibs they make. when singling live they also switch them up often. mark and jeno do it the most
mimi
RENJUN'S HARMONIESSSSSS hes my goat bro how does he sound so sweet
NeoNightBloom
the chenle appreciation is real! I LOVE that man's tone and adlibs!
mimi
haechan you fucking genius he sounds so yummy
vvculture
jeno did the intro, jaemin did verse 2
mimi
jisung is so fucking cute bro 😭
mimi
markle being the greatest best friends ever continues... i love their friendship so so much lmao i love that chenle waited for mark. mark calling chenle his closest friend and member in all of nct unprovoked during his solo promotions lives in my head rent free
mimi
all of them did so amazing in this song but man chenle and haechan are something else. i remember watching this recording in shock during chenle's part. his final adlib is literally my favourite part of the whole song and the way he was able to do it sooooo effortlessly. zhong chenle your voice will be spoke about for generations to come... and haechan's entire section just had me so gobsmacked. the mainest main vocals ever its crazy
mimi
the bike chenle rode is actually the bathroom bike lmaoooo. they ride it to make the journey between the bathroom and the studio quicker. it kills me every time that they kept it in the video 😭
