Hoping there will be!

Rosenberg

Love the books, I have Skyclad on audiobook and have read what has come of Sky bound so far many times. I was wondering, are there more chapters of Max’s story?

Chivatha

Totally fair, take whatever time you need, I’ll be here till I can’t be.

a_man_in_black

i wanted to have it out by new years, but i didn't make it. i'm workin on it now and hoping to finish soon. i would post an update but i don't want to spin hype with an announcement until i have it ready to deliver

Chivatha

Yay, all caught up… now we wait.

Falxie

Nice to hear everything is getting better! One of the best stories on RR imho (nice depth and stuff) \o/

Carl Mason

Cool, good to hear back. Sucks about all the real life hassles. But the chapter and plotting sounds exciting! I will look forward to your next release. Thanks for answering, too, I don't use discord.

a_man_in_black

yeah! sorry, i'm way more talkative in discord than i am on here, since discord is always up on my second display! i've been running my mom around to doctors appointments, and dealing with my central heat and air unit going out. nothing life-threatening, just majorly annoying and a time-consuming hassle. major changes halfway through delayed the chapter, i had to go back and restructure my outline for the ending of book 2 since morgan is going to hit lvl 50 before the end and that's going to be a bigger Event(TM) than i had originally planned. it's looking like 4 chapters to the end of the book, and i'm back to writing the restructured chapter now

Carl Mason

You doing okay over there, buddy? It has been a while with neither chapter nor updoots. Just want to check in.

Falxie

Soon(tm)

i'm eager to write it as well:)

I get that the lance would be fine against the swarmers themselves, I just wonder how they will handle things like the queens who were effectively invulnerable to anything short of a super leveled champion, a nuke, or a massive natural disaster. If you know they are coming I can see the lance doing very well with a specially prepared defense, but a surprise attack by something really scary seems inevitable for a fixed settlement out there. I cant wait to see how that is handled!

Will mILLER

Vic firth makes something like what I think you’re talking about. Look up marching stick bag.

Sooo soon™️

a_man_in_black

this meant that a swarm was about the worst match-up the Expedition force could have ever faced. the Black Lance, on the other hand, is highly disciplined, highly organized, and while it lacks high level champions other than Hett, they would be far better off against a swarm, especially given time to dig in and fortify and prepare a shield wall

a_man_in_black

the lance has advantages and disadvantages when it comes to a place like the wildlands. the Expedition itself was better than just a ragtag band of merry fellows, but only just. the yearly venture is a host of adventurers followed by a chunk of higher levelled laborers and a few artisans to process the things that can't be transported easily back to civilization. they are more like a few different tribes of hunters decided to team up for a season. this means they have(or had, before everything that's happened so far) a handful of really high level powerhouses leading a few teams, and no over-arching system of organization or hierarchy and discipline.

Dahak

It will be interesting to see how they will handle recruiting and training given how dangerous the Wildlands are. I doubt anyone in the Lance could survive some of the more dangerous powers out there at this point, and being in a fixed position could end poorly. Morgan now can just run away from things too powerful and was originally too weak for the scary powerful things out there to notice, but that isnt the case with a fixed long-term settlement. I mean what happened with the bugs would have killed the expedition even with a super high level and other high level and really well equipped forces there if there hadn't been a handy nuke lying around. And the timely intervention of a flaming landslide.

a_man_in_black

coming up this weekend. not likely to be finished today but i'm shooting for tomorrow:)

j0ntsa

Sooo, where is our chappy... We need moar, pls?

a_man_in_black

originally he was going to negotiate buying some land, but i realized later on that he needs somewhere isolated and defensible but with resources at hand to get him started. the old fort puts him in a good position, and Expedition is a neutral hub. dealing with them directly takes some of the pressure off where people might push him to swear to a ruler.

a_man_in_black

it's similar to a bandolier, but it straps around her thigh. it's not quite a holster, not quite a quiver. it's something i've seen a few different drummers cobble together for themselves when they're prone to breaking drumsticks playing intense heavy metal

Rhain

Think they ment a belt with slots for extra drum sticks like how in wild west films they have belts with slots for extra bullets

Andrew Denton

Quick question: you referred to Millie receiving something like a bandolier, but given that you describe as being like a pouch, and something that she straps to her leg, did you mean a quiver?

Andrew Denton

I didn't see it myself, but you make a good point.

Daniel Sifrit

I thought it was fairly obvious that she was going to end up teamed with Jacob. They both have similar reactions to the collars.

j0ntsa

They props in end will make deal that benefits both of them, morgan's knowledge of wilds for their goods and knowledge

Yay Millie! And looks like Jacob is gonna be neighbors with Morgan.
