i've been experimenting a little bit with new audios! some of my audios explore themes that aren’t a fit for certain guidelines on certain sites/apps. they’re a bit less vanilla and definitely not for everyone. i can’t share them here or say too much, but i do talk more freely about it on my twitter / x about things!!
it might be time to be moving again!
my roommate and i's lease is coming to an end, and after a lot of late-night chats and back-and-forths, we’ve decided it’s time for a change!!!! this wasn’t a spur of the moment type of thing. affordability’s a big factor (rent's been creeping up more than we'd like to admit), but also... the things that happen on our street have been off for a while.
i'm someone who gets really attached to my spaces, but i don't know, i wont be missing this apartment. the location is great sure, but not ideal for peace of mind.
OH MY GOSHH have you all seen the new lilo and stitch? i haven't watched it yet, but it's been all over my feed and i’m so torn. part of me wants to give it a fair shot, but i’ve already seen people say it just… doesn’t land!! disney’s been churning out these live-action remakes like clockwork, and barely any of them feel like they have soul anymore.
i don’t know who needs to hear this, but: not everything needs a live action remake or a sequel!!! the original lilo & stitch was so heartfelt and weird and imperfect in the best way!! it didn’t need to be remade just to cash in. and don’t even get me started on how disney keeps dodging 2D animation. remember how rich and expressive that style was? now everything’s just glossy and over-processed. the 3d animation looks like those grub hub commercials sometimes. too corporate yk what i mean?
i will say this though!! i loved soul and encanto (other movies too i forgot the rest) they felt like actual stories someone cared about. not just repackaged nostalgia. i want more of that. i want something that makes me feel, not just remember. i still want 2d animation back. AND THEY NEED TO PAY ANIMATORS MORE AND REHIRE THE OLD ONES GAWWWHHH

YES I REMEMBER THAT! my cousins would always point him out because he's filipino! we loved the representation! ah this makes me want to do a rewatch of all the old disney movies. i do that every few years but haven't done that tradition in a while!! thank you so much for you- i mean your friend for loving the audio!! *wink *wink*

I am honestly really disappointed in Disney these days. I don't watch any of their live action stuff, even their recent animated movies have lost their timeless classic nostalgia for me. However back in the 90s Brandi did a retelling of Cinderella with I think Whitney Houston as the fairy godmother I still love it. The whole cast was of people of all backgrounds even the prince was Asian which kind of literally never happens but it was beautifully done. Its a million times better than Disney live action of Cinderella. Artists definitely don't get the love they need, I would also say writing isn't as well done either. There's alot more I could say on the matter but goodness that would turn into 2 hour rant! Little Mermaid is still my jam as far as princess Disney movies, but I miss movies like the Rescuers, Oliver, Lady and the Tramp. I also love old musicals. I lived with my grandma for alot of my life so its in embedded in me now. I loved the audio...opps (I mean my friend wink wink). Not sure how better to describe but just like a cookie being baked it makes me all melted and gooey inside haha! Thanks Jun! 🤗❤️
