At the end of the day, you did not recover any usable chromium from that, did you? I thought maybe you could turn the chromium hydroxide back into something useful, like potassium dichromate? Or chromium metal, using some sort of electrochemistry.

Sodium metabisulfate works just as well as Sodium sulfate Red Nile.

Hmm, based on the color I think you still have some Cr(VI) in the waste from the flask.

I do similar things with sodium dichromate salts Red Nile. Nasty stuff.
