Grand Cathedral Crypt [64x102]
🕑 Added 2024-01-26 03:52:49 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
Here's the follow up to our Grand Cathedral Interior. This crypt is accessible via the stone spiral staircase on the west transept. You might notice there's two spiral staircases, but only one on the ground floor. We put that in as some vestigal architecture that has since been blocked up... although maybe it goes to a hidden reliquary? We might make that in future. ;)

As we wanted to make a narrative that would run through the series, the main concept for this Crypt was based on the statue in the upper floor.
Here we have a statue of angels battling to keep this orb safe. We imagined this being a human representation of some kind of portal/gateway that was locked in the distant past to keep demons out of the material planes.
And then here in the crypt we have angel statues surrounding/guarding what looks like a demonic orb portal. Is it real? What happens when you try to activate it? Are the angels waiting in statis for evil doers to come and reopen the portal?
Lastly, in the right handside of the map we have a hole smashed open that leads below the angel's chapel. That's where part 4 of the series will be. We'll see that one next month. ;)

Do you have a foundry version of this?
Cze and Peku
It should be the right size. I'm checking the files and it seems fine?

64x102 seems to be way too big for the tokens. Is this a typo?

You guys are life savers!! I run a Vampiric Campaign with a big focus on Cathedrals so these maps have been exactly what I needed. They look so utterly wonderful! Cannot wait for the rest. <3
