Lich Catacomb [40x50]
🕑 Added 2024-02-27 13:34:52 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
This is the next part in our Grand Cathedral series!
To remind you, we have the Grand Cathedral Entrance, then inside the Grand Cathedral Interior, which has spiral stairs leading down to the Grand Cathedral Crypt.
The throughline idea we have for this series is based around angels defending the world from the forces of demons. In the Cathedral there's a statue of an archangel fighting off demons and protecting a sacred orb.
That sacred orb is said to be a portal between our world and the demonic planes, and to be housed in crypt below, along with the body of the angels, who would return to defend the orb if anyone came to open the portal and unleash the demonic legions.
The portal though, was a false one. A trick to lure ne'er-do-wells and strike them down before they could wreck havoc on the world.
The real orb was far, far below the cathedral, hidden deep in the bowels of the earth.
...But nothing stays secret forever. A Lich and their army of the servants found the true location of the orb, fought off the angels and began to tunnel in to the earth.
And here we get to this map, the Lich Catacomb. They've found the where the sacred orb was buried, have desocrated this holy vault, and are planning to open the final seal to release the demons into our world. It's up to you to stop them!
That's the story so far! Of course, you can use it for whatever you want, but we enjoy creating stories for our maps. :)
The following part will be on the otherside of the portal, in the caves of demon plane (we assume your party doesn't stop the Lich in time and has to fight through the demon planes to stop them at their core).
There'll likely be two more parts after that, the demon king's castle exterior and interior.
We hope you're enjoying this series!
