I came here to ask the same question. Even the invite link gives an invalid invite.

Spectar79

Discord gone again?

Westane

Enter the code above before the entering the passage with the error, and it should allow you to then bypass the issue.

john ross

After entering the above nothing happened I emsiled you tthe saved game

Westane

Okay, then the issue is probably bad timing from where the game got saved. If you invited Tasha over for Christmas than you'll need to put this in the console: SugarCube.State.variables.guest = 'tasha';

john ross

got this: SugarCube.State.variables.guest undefined

Westane

It means when you start typing the console will try to autocomplete what you're typing and you press Tab on the keyboard to let it do that. If you're going to copy and paste you need to copy this: SugarCube.State.variables.guest

john ross

I just copied and pasted : Sugarcube.state.variables.guest where is the tab-autocomplete?

Westane

It's case sensitive, you want to use the tab-autocomplete whenever you use the console. SugarCube.State.variables.guest

john ross

Sugarcube.state.variables.guest VM4238:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: Sugarcube is not defined at :1:1

john ross

I dont get anything on the right side

Westane

Press F12 to open the console panel on the right, then click the Console tab up top between Elements and Sources. You should be able to type there.

john ross

I can email you the saved game if you want.

john ross

I pressed F12 , how do you open the console that is shown in a line at bottom of the browser?

Westane

Are you playing on Chrome? If so, press F12 to open the console and type Sugarcube.state.variables.guest and tell me what that returns.

john ross

The first time was with a new MC I worked up to Dec 24. I saved the game hoping the Pub Release fixed it. I ran the new release and loaded the saved game and the error was still there. I backed up one place and tried to go forward, the error returned. With the amount of time to take a new MC from start to Dec 24 I was really hoping NOT to restart.

Westane

I tested this again with both the existing backer release and the posted public release and it's definitely working for me, with all five potential guests. Are you starting a new game or loading a save?

john ross

After downloading this release, played the MC with the Xmas error, it is still there : Error: <>: passage "Story-CH4-ChristmasDinner-undefined" does not exist
