immodesty

Before you read this, I would like to say that English is not my native language and I'm sorry if you see a lot of spelling mistakes. Also, everything written in this comment is purely my personal thoughts, and in places they can be absurd. I hope for your understanding. Thoughts have been spinning in my head for a long time and I wanted to write them. Everyone hates Belle and adores Sam. They consider it the main one in BTC. (Or Naimh, whatever) My opinion throughout BTC was that this is fundamentally wrong and Belle is the main girl and not only BTC, but the whole series. And I'm going to try to defend my opinion now. And the first clear signs that Sam is not only not the "main girl", but she does not suitable in character Matty at all, are already visible in BTC2 and at the time of chapter 23 they simply signal this. I think some have already grasped the essence of what I'm going to mean. And so on in order. Why are they not suitable for each other? Everything is simple. Because for Sam, only Sam is important. Matty's psychotype is such that it is simply vital for him that people close to him are around, almost 24/7. And we can clearly see it now, the slightest violation of the BTC structure and Matty doesn't feel good anymore Sam is just disgusting in this role, and she is absolutely not going to change that. As I said, she is only interested in herself, if she is interested in Matty at the moment, she will be with him, if not, obviously she will not be around. And although she is gnawed by a small sense of guilt, it does not overlap with her own interests. And Matty, although he has become attached to her and has fallen in love with her, he does not see the obvious - she is not the one he needs. At least for the next 5 years (if Sam does not come to his senses, which I doubt), she will not be in his life, as he wants. And it will grow like an infection in him until it completely strikes him and results in the breakup (at least obvious to me (I could be wrong!)). While reading, I asked myself a few questions. When (or if) their final breakup happens, will Matty be upset? Obviously. Will Matty miss her? Be sad for her? Will he hope that she will come back? One hundred percent. Will he break down mentally? No, I don't think so. The reason? Belle. You may ask, but why is she, and not Naimh? Ask yourself the same questions and the answers will be identical. And in general, if you disassemble Niamh, then she does not suit him either. For me personally, there is an important (perhaps absurd) criterion, despite all Naimh's love for Matty, if she ever has a choice between Matty and BTC, she will choose BTC. Naimh has said this throughout all two books and she meant it (which is once again confirmed in chapter 23). Naimh it's always been just sex and although their communication has improved in recent chapters, it's still not enough (and unlikely to be). Now ask the same questions about Belle Here the answer to the last question is different. If Belle ever leaves him, I mean forever. That's when Matty will break down mentally, I'm sure of it. She's the one who grew up with him. She is the one who has always been there and supported in the most difficult times. (even if Naimh or Sam were there, Belle was always on hand) She is his support(rock) (Dawn moment). She is the one who will unconditionally choose Matty instead of BTC (no matter how many times she claims otherwise), this again follows from the totality of her answers and behavior throughout the two books. And now I would like to say a few words about the whole hate in the direction of Belle. The poor thing is not only madly in love, she is also shocked by her sexuality. Her mother died early, and her father was clearly not suitable for the role of a person capable of discussing this issue with her about her feelings and sexual preferences. And what makes the situation even worse is that her second year is surrounded by a gaggle of bisexual girls who are constantly inadvertently pushing her to absurd actions. For her, this behavior has become the norm. Unfortunately, Matty can't help her in any way, although he tried. She needs the help of a psychotherapist. But if you turn a blind eye to her problem. Belle is the best girl for Matty. She always puts him first. No matter how much she tells him that she doesn't want to be his girlfriend and she feels good as his sister, she always brags to other people that she is his girlfriend. Also, she always tries to earn him points in the eyes of other girls by telling him how much he is a beast in bed. And besides the fact that she wants to get them into bed because of her sexuality, Belle is equally doing it for Matty. And after that you want to say that Sam or Naimh is better than Belle? And if you think so, then I will ask the second, more important question: Sam or Naimh better in in general, as characters? or as a partner for Matty? Here you may have different answers.

God of Tits and Wine

I preface my feedback with always having been a Neevie fan. I have never been into anal but I think her self-sacrificing nature matches Matty’s own self-sacrificing nature and that’s what he ultimately needs. While of course, I, like many others, am eagerly awaiting the influence of a more mature lady, in the statuesque amazon image of Skylar; part of me dares to hope that Skylar will never join the BTC in earnest. One buxom beauty that doesn’t buck and bounce at the beck of our benevolent beau. Her issues do seemingly betray that self-esteem shortage common among the girls in the throes of their lowest points (perhaps with the exception of Neevie), with a more developed acceptance of the cruel fate that she could otherwise avoid through the magic of acceptance that is the BTC. The one that got away, has always felt like Sam’s eventual role to me and so I see Skylar as the forays into maturity and while I can see her eventual breakdown as a release and moment of weakness as she regrets taking advantage of her student, I’m hoping she holds her head high and if she joins the club it is a measured and considered decision on her behalf. Eva’s past seems to be one of lost love and in all honesty this runs a little to close to my current relationship than perhaps I’d like. I had, oddly, hoped that this would be the introduction to the realism of sexual assault prevalence and Eva was the one with a dark history after Mariangel’s arc had been somewhat glossed over (I felt). This wishful thinking is no doubt a product of my own present romantic engagements, so heed not. Dissimilarly, I am awaiting the first infidelity revelation and though, for obvious reasons, it will never be Matty, I find myself wanting it to be Sam. Not with some guy, this would assault Matty’s ego and the reader’s fantasy too heavily. With Sam’s friend that she’s been staying with, that would add to the churning drama of the BTC college edition. My own history of experiencing the pains of a distanced partner’s infidelity seem not to be burdened by the idea that Sam, momentarily overwhelmed by school, work, relationships, and the whirlpool of teenage love fell, in a moment of weakness, for the ease of a casual, though emotional, tryst. I am glad that Belle and Lily’s arc of ‘R word’ has simmered somewhat as I was concerned that it would devolve into a full blown Belle baby trap. I would advise that such a thing never cross your page. Your readership’s political opinions aside, the unforgivable betrayal of a baby trap, even an unsuccessful one, would cleave any party that instigated such a thing. That said, I look forward to the first pregnancy scare and how you manage to twist that calamity into a coming together. Perhaps only a scare as the aforementioned divisiveness of an actual abortion may lose readers and, for some, sever the psychic link, even if only on a subconscious biological level akin to one of the girls spitting Matty’s sperm in disgust. Your story is exceptional and your characters are the most engaging. I look forward to the live action adaptation.
