The UC Berkeley Halloween Party was an organized student body affair that took place on a school night in the on-campus Pauley Ballroom. There was no alcohol but plenty of punch, sodas, and snacks. But that said, she’d created the skirt and tail so that it could be unzipped up the back, allowing her to walk freely when necessary.
But Luna didn’t know that yet, and she leaned over into the redhead’s personal space just as much as Naimh had been doing to her a moment earlier. And she peered a little closer at Naimh’s mermaid tail, asking, “How can you move in that thing?”
“Easy! “Or something.”
Isabela paused and regarded me with narrowed eyes. “So secretive, aren’t you?”
I shrugged and replied, “I’ve learned over the years that girls don’t usually like advertising their personal details. If you want to know anything about my ladies, you’ll have to ask them yourself.”

I chuckled and nodded. “Very special, indeed.”

If one were to run a search for the idiom “deer in headlights” on the internet, I’ve no doubt a photo of my bewildered face would be one of the search results. “It IS kinda awesome, although I must admit: nobody actually calls me ‘Bella’. On occasion it can be ‘Izzy’ for short,” Isabela clarified a few seconds later, and I exhaled a sigh of relief. She then turned to the Hawaiian hottie in the hula girl outfit, letting her eyes ogle all of Lily’s exposed tan skin and lingering on the little shorty’s Double-D rack put on display by her coconut bra. And she asked in that same innuendo-laced voice, “And what’s your name, cutie?”

“He’s our Matty, yes,” Belle confirmed with a grin, hugging herself against my side now that Isabela had gone to sit with Luna.
“Matty, right,” Isabela affirmed. “And these two are Belle and Lily as well. I assume all three of you are Matt’s girlfriends?”
Belle and Lily glanced at each other for a moment before Belle grinned and nodded. “We all share him, yes.”
Isabela’s eyes glittered and she promptly leaned forward, planting both elbows on the tabletop and dropping her cheeks into her cupped hands. Her expression was that of an eager listener absolutely captivated by the story unfolding before her. And she asked excitedly, “How is it? Is it as amazing as it sounds?
