Holly stated seriously, “I’m not bored of you.”

“I’m not asking ‘for the rest of your life’ or next year or even the rest of this year. But do we really have to break up right now?”

But then all of a sudden it really hit me how final this really felt, and it hit me how much I did NOT want this to be the end. So gritting my teeth, I looked up at her and frowned, stating firmly, “I don’t want to break up. I don’t. I hear what you’re saying. I understand the logic. But this hurts, Holly. It hurts. I don’t want to let you go.”
She smiled. She started chuckling, even.
“Glad to know my misery amuses you.”
“It does amuse me. Makes me happy, actually, to know that you care enough to feel hurt.”

“This hurts me too.” Holly gave me a sad look, and only then did I realize there was already moisture in her eyes. When she blinked, a single tear rolled down her left cheek. “And if you want to feel happy about something, know that I’ve never cried over any guy except you.”

It wasn’t the first time I was meeting any of them, and now that I was no longer a “new” boyfriend to be interrogated, just the boyfriend they already knew about, everyone was quite relaxed around me. See, “the schedule” said that Friday morning was Sam and Holly’s second slot with me. But Holly had stuck firm to her decision to break up with me, as well as to skip the New Year’s Mammoth Mountain trip. And not even Sam, Zofi, Belle, and Naimh all going over to visit her yesterday could change her mind.
I was sad about that, but Zofi joining me and Sam at Sam’s empty house in the morning had done wonders to improve my mood. It was a joy to see them both together again – specifically to see them at ease with each other again, so much that it felt just like old times. Plus, both girls could tell I was still sad about Holly, and both went out of their way to make me feel better.

Taking a deep breath, I collected my energy, made sure I was smiling, and reached up to ring the doorbell. A minute later it opened, but instead of staring into Zofi’s exquisitely beautiful face, I found myself smiling at the equally exquisitely beautiful face of her mother.
“Good afternoon, Mrs. Z,” I greeted pleasantly.
“Good afternoon, Matthew. Always nice to see you,” she replied just as pleasantly. Stepping back, she gestured with one arm. “Come on in. They’re in front of the TV already.”
I nodded and walked confidently down the hallway.
Zofi sat next to her dad, absolutely glowing. “Matty!” she exclaimed gleefully as she ran up to give me a tender hug, followed by a tender kiss. There was no need for fireworks, not after the morning we’d already had together.
“Hi, mój skarbie,” I greeted casually while rubbing her shoulder.
“Mój skarbie…?” Zofi’s dad asked with a wide smile, not displeased. “I like it. I’m going to steal that for Zofi’s mother.”
“Don’t make it weird, Daddy,” Zofi admonished with a laugh.
The man chuckled and then turned his attention to me. “So happy to have you here, Matthew.”
“Glad to be here, Mr. Z,” I replied, walking over to him with my hand extended.
He shook it and then gestured to the couch. “Come sit. The game is about to start.”
Zofi parked herself right next to her dad and then patted the seat beside her. She wrapped both of her arms around us, one on each side, and looked as happy as she’d ever been in her entire life.
Zofi beamed at me. “I love you, Matty.”
I hadn’t forgotten that Zofi’s mom was still seeing a therapist to work through accepting her own sexuality. And although some people might have wondered how a man like Mr. Z could stay married to a woman who was a lesbian at heart, I didn’t have to wonder one bit. All I had to do was look at Zofi and imagine what life might be like married to her.
And even though I wasn’t in any rush to marry anyone, the thought of being married to Zofi was a very pleasant thought indeed.
I grinned and leaned my shoulder into hers, replying warmly, “I love you, too.”

Nothing tickled my balls, and I didn’t jerk awake.
No stray beam of sunlight woke me up.
But I still ground my morning wood into the cleft of Belle’s buttcheeks. I mean, why NOT grind my morning wood into her buttcheeks. We were both naked and still spooned together in my favorite sleeping position: that of holding a beautiful girl I loved in my arms.
But we didn’t have sex this morning; it was a weekend, and Mr. K was still home after all. We’d all slept in on this Saturday morning, so it was getting close to noon when I finally got into my minivan to leave. Belle gave me a quick peck on the lips before I walked out the door. There was no need for special goodbyes knowing we’d see each other tomorrow.
Our BTC Mammoth Mountain trip was about to begin.
Holly wouldn’t be joining us. That was okay, though. I’d miss her. We’d all miss her. But I liked to think we’d enjoyed the time of our lives together. I knew I’d enjoyed our brief romance.
Holly had been right about one thing, though: there were still a LOT of other girls going on the trip. Six of the OG BTC would be in attendance: Naimh, Sam, Belle, Alice, Mari, Zofi. And Eva was flying back on a red-eye from Kauai. Those I’d always known about.
But Luna was also coming with us. I’d been surprised when Belle relayed the news, and I still didn’t know all the details. But bottom line: Luna was coming with us.
And maybe I could still talk Skylar into coming too.
Speaking of Skylar, I parked my minivan on the street just outside her apartment after an hour-long drive from my hometown. I locked up, knowing full well that I wouldn’t be returning to the minivan anytime soon. After all, she’d already told me she had no interest in me taking her out to lunch.
I pushed in the big steel pins for the building’s keyless lock to enter the front door, skipped up the stairs to the second floor, and strolled down the hallway to her apartment. And then I idly rapped out the Shave and a Haircut rhythm on the door itself, my typical way of announcing my presence.
To my surprise, Skylar’s apartment door opened smoothly, without a single hitch. The buxom blonde bombshell was gorgeous, of course, and dressed to impress in a V-neck pastel pink sweater that hugged her curves, a white headband that pulled back her honey-blonde hair, and a frilly white skirt that promised easy access beneath its hem. But I found myself gaping at the door itself and its gleaming, brand-new gold hinges instead of gawking at her.
“Oh, right,” she drawled with a grin, knocking on the open door. “The apartment manager finally got it fixed.”
“Wow…” I muttered.
Skylar snapped her fingers on both hands. “Focus, Matty, focus. Beautiful girl standing in front of you that hasn’t gotten laid all week.”
I blinked twice and brought my gaze back to her. “Right, right. Sorry. Right.”
Skylar laughed musically, not the least bit annoyed. “I turned in all of my contract work. I’m free and clear for the rest of winter break,” she announced proudly.
“Awesome! That’s great to hear.”
She flashed me a pearly white grin. “Now get in here so I can rip your clothes off and throw you onto my bed.”
I laughed as Skylar reached through the open doorway, grabbed me by the shirt, and physically yanked me inside.
