“Skylar’s at the front door!” Belle squawked in alarm to the other girls in the living room, having scurried back out of sight.
From my side of the wall, I heard Naimh sputter in surprise, “Ummm… Ummm… What do we do?”
“I should leave,” Skylar muttered apologetically, her eyes wide and her entire body tense.
“No, don’t,” I replied instinctively while tightening my grip around her waist. But a moment later I grimaced and clenched my eyes shut. Skylar choosing to remove herself from the awkward situation did make a lot of sense. So I opened my eyes and exhaled slowly, and as I did so I removed my hands from Skylar’s waist and took a step back. “Well… okay maybe that would be for the best. I’m so sorry.”
“It’s quite alright. Thank you for escorting me today. I really appreciate it. I’ll see you in class, okay?” she said quickly while turning around.
I nodded silently as Skylar twisted the doorknob and pulled open the door. Two seconds later she was gone, and I closed the door behind her, flipped the deadbolt, and then turned around to sag my back against the unyielding wood muttering, “Shit, shit, shit.”
All was silent for a few awkward moments, and then Belle called out, “Is she gone?!”
“She’s gone!” I answered loudly before taking a deep breath and pushing myself off the door. I paced down the short hallway with a foreboding sense of trepidation and actually came to a stop just out of view, rather nervously leaning forward and around the corner with just my head and shoulders while giving my girlfriends a sheepish grin. “Ummm… sorry?”
Sam sat on the sofa buck naked save for the strap-on Matty Junior sprouting from her loins, holding a throw pillow defensively over her chest.

Skylar and I talked a lot today and she’s had a really rough time lately and everybody at the wedding pretty much ostracized her for some reason and she could really use some friends so when she asked if she could meet you I didn’t really think before inviting her to come inside when she dropped me off and she even gave me an out by saying she’d understand if you weren’t fit for company but I didn’t want to disappoint her so I told her I was sure it’d be alright but clearly it wasn’t alright and I’m so so sorry!”
Belle knitted her eyebrows together, seemed to chew on that for a moment, and then pursed her lips, exhaling through them with a huff. “Where do you even breathe in all that?” she parroted before grabbing my elbow and dragging me into the living room.
Sam was still scowling at me with a look of disappointment and kept the pillow over her chest. Matty Junior glistened with moisture in her lap and I realized that Belle’s puffy pink labia were wet and still spread open a bit. It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what the girls had been up to in anticipation of my arrival, and I realized I’d just screwed myself out of a very pleasant foursome to wrap up my evening.
Belle pointed me at the couch at a right-angle to Sam’s and gave me a healthy shove at it. Belle took a seat next to me, but she faced away with her arms and legs crossed as if removing her goodies from view as punishment for my transgressions.
Naimh came and sat down on the other side of me, putting her hand on my knee. “You said Skylar’s had a rough time of it lately?” the redhead asked. “And that everybody at the wedding ostracized her?”
I sighed and sagged against the backrest. “Yeah, it was really weird. It was her twin brother Sebastien’s wedding but their parents didn’t talk to her at all, even though they were seated side-by-side during the ceremony. Most of the guests around our age were old college friends of Skylar’s and Sebastien’s from Cal, but except for this one girl, everyone else stayed away from her. Well, there was this one asshole who came by and called her a slut so I had to get in his face to get him to leave. She was clearly shaken and even trembling after that, and that was coming near the end of a really tense and awkward day in general. I gotta admit: if I’d been in her place, I don’t think I would’ve shown up in the first place - twin brother or not.”
“That’s just because you don’t know what it’s like to feel family obligations,” Sam muttered before sitting up and shaking her head. The pillow remained firmly in front of her chest as she hugged it closely.
I pursed my lips and shrugged, not having a response to that.
“Poor Skylar,” Naimh mumbled, almost absentmindedly rubbing my leg while she furrowed her eyebrows deep in thought.
“But you still shouldn’t have invited her in tonight,” Belle scolded. “Even if we hadn’t been getting all warmed up to give you a hot triple-girlfriend surprise, it’s not a good idea to invite strangers over when we’re not expecting them.”
Naimh picked her head up and nodded. “What if we’d been lounging around in sweatpants with no makeup on? I would’ve been mortified!”
“Would’ve at least been better than this.” Sam reached down and whacked the end of the Matty Junior… hard… and I winced in sympathetic response as if I’d felt the impact myself. My Head Girlfriend glared at me with narrowed eyes, stating coldly, “If you ever want us to surprise you with our naked, warmed-up bodies ever again for the rest of our lives, you will never bring strangers home unannounced ever again for the rest of our lives, got it?”
“Got it,” I replied with a blush, swallowing thickly.
Rolling her eyes, Sam got off the couch and finally dumped the throw pillow aside. With her borrowed equipment bobbing, she stalked out of the room and into her bedroom without a backwards glance and then slammed the door shut.
I grimaced and made a face at Naimh. Saturday nights were ‘Sam Nights’, but I muttered glumly, “She’s not coming out tonight, is she?”
Naimh gave me an apologetic look. “She’ll cool off in a minute. Honestly, we’re smarter than this.”
“Apparently not,” Belle muttered.
“It was kind of foreseeable that Skylar would drop in to say ‘hullo’,” Naimh continued.
“It made perfect sense at the time to invite her in,” I said with a sigh. “I’m sorry. This is my--”
“Stop apologizing,” she cut me off. “It’s not really your fault. And no harm done other than Skylar catchin’ a peak at Belle’s cute li’l vertical smile.”
“Hey!” Belle objected, turning back to face us while keeping one hand covering her chest as the other jabbed a knuckle at into already sore arm with each word. “That. Was. Not. Cool.”
“No it wasn’t, but Matty’s learned his lesson. And on a scale of one to ‘I’m never showin’ me face in public again’, how traumatized are you really?”
“About a two,” Belle admitted, clearly not wanting to abandon her status as the injured party.
“And on a scale of one to ‘I’m gonna touch meself thinkin’ o’ Skylar imaginin’ me naked’, how turn’d on does’it make ye knowin’ she’s seen ye in th’buff?”
Belle wriggled in her seat, “Do I have to touch myself?”
Naimh smiled and patted my leg, “See there? Everything will be okay. Just go upstairs and take a shower. Sam will be in your bed by the time you get out.”
“You think so?”
“I know so,” she replied with a smile and a wink.
Naimh had said the sentence with such reassuring confidence that I couldn’t help but smile back. I leaned forward and my girlfriend kissed me sweetly while continuing to rub my leg. And then once we parted, she gave me a warm smile and patted my butt after I stood up to head upstairs.
Belle puckered up as I turned around. I gave her a quick kiss and said “Sorry” one more time. She sighed and rolled her eyes in a way that told me I wasn’t forgiven, but soon would be.
And then I headed upstairs to take a shower… alone.

I mentally berated myself while soaping up my entire body, knowing that had I NOT screwed things up tonight I wouldn’t be showering alone (nor would I have been showering at all for another hour or so) and showering was just more fun when a gorgeous naked girl was soaping me up instead, you know?

I had no idea as to WHY any of that stuff had happened and precious few details from which to even form a reasonable hypothesis.
I wondered what would happen to us now. Would she greet me in class on Monday with a warm hug and a bright smile? Would she pretend we were total strangers, never speak of the day again, and move forward as if the wedding had never happened? Would she still want to meet my girlfriends? Or had tonight’s disastrous first attempt soured her on the whole idea?
I didn’t know.
I didn’t really know anything about her. At this point, she knew far more about the goings on in my life than I did about hers, the inevitable result of me filling in empty conversation space talking about my life while not pressuring her to reveal any more about hers than she was comfortable with.
Not that I’d ever pressure her. Wasn’t my style. I’d express my openness to learning more if she felt comfortable sharing and maybe even ask some pointed questions, but I’d never be the kind of guy to demand answers she didn’t want to give.
All I could do now, really, was wait. Worrying about the Skylar situation wouldn’t do me any good, and my priority should be on my three girlfriends anyway. So as I finished rinsing off, turned off the shower, and reached out to grab my towel, I resolved to get dressed quickly and then head downstairs to beg Sam’s forgiveness and plead with her to come to bed with me.
But I needn’t have worried. Naimh told me that Sam would be in my bed by the time I got out, and she was as good as her word. As I returned to my room, I found my busty blonde girlfriend waiting for me in bed wearing wispy, sheer lingerie just as she’d suggested days ago.

“That’s because you haven’t, and group text chats don’t count. But don’t sweat it. You were always a bit of an out-of-sight/out-of-mind kinda guy, especially distracted as you were by whichever girls were immediately in your sight at the time.”
I shrugged. “It’s funny because it’s true. But seriously: how is she?”
“She’s good, she’s good.” Naimh smirked. “You’ll be happy to know she isn’t dating other guys or anything like that. Too busy getting adjusted to a new school and all that, although she said she’s giving BOB quite a workout.”
I blushed and gave Naimh a wry grin. “Thanks for the update, but that still doesn’t explain this.” I gestured vaguely at the TV.
“Alice asked if you’d picked up a new video game buddy yet. I told her you hadn’t, which gave me the idea that -I- could be your new video game buddy. And that’s when she suggested this.”
The spinning Nintendo 64 logo on the TV screen faded away to be replaced by the opening screen video of Perfect Dark, accompanied by down-tempo trance music and a surreal kind of starfield while the stylized letters of the title scrolled by. Curious, I let the video play for a minute or so before picking up a controller, pressing the red Start button in the middle, and sitting down next to my girlfriend.
“This game isn’t mine,” I remarked as the initial setup screen came up and I started thumbing through the selections. “Did you buy it?”
“Yesterday right after I hung up with Alice. Do you like my surprise?”
“Love it,” I told her sincerely and opened my arm to her.
My grinning girlfriend giggled gleefully and snuggled in against my side, puckering up for a simple smooch. “I’m so excited!” she squealed.
“Do you know how the game works?” I asked.
“Uh, no,” Naimh admitted. “But Alice said this would be a fun game for the two of us because it has a… a ‘cooperative’ mode?”
I nodded, flicking the buttons to put us into two-player, explaining, “This looks a lot like Goldeneye to me, which Alice and I used to play together, but that didn’t have a ‘Co-op’. ‘Co-op’ is where the two of us work together to complete each level. Each of us takes a player and we basically run around trying to shoot the bad guys without getting shot too many times ourselves. And see here: there’s a brunette and a blonde.”
“No redheads?” Naimh pouted. “Can I change my character’s hair color?”
“Uh no, I don’t think so. Sorry.”
“Feck it. I’m good with the blonde.” Naimh shrugged. “So how do we do this?”
“Well let’s start with me teaching you what all the buttons do, how to move, how to aim, and how to shoot.”
“Sounds complicated,” she drawled while screwing her face up, at least at first. “But I have a feeling you’ll know exactly how to simplify it for me!”
My smile matched hers. “I look forward to trying. Don’t sweat about mastering it all in one day. Let’s just have some fun, huh?”
“Can you teach me while I sit in your lap?”
“Even better.”
Naimh giggled. “I think I’m gonna enjoy this.”

Per our normal Monday/Wednesday routine, Naimh held my hand for the walk from our house onto campus Monday morning while Belle followed behind us. When we reached our usual intersection, my redheaded girlfriend gave me a quick kiss and then bounced away towards the Biology buildings while Belle happily slid her small hand into mine for the journey that remained. I twisted around, spotted the speaker, and then blushed a bit. “Good morning, Skylar. What can I say? Belle’s an affectionate one.”
“I imagine they’re ALL pretty affectionate if Belle and Neevie are anything to go by.” Arms folded across her chest, Skylar extended her chin towards Belle’s departing form. “And I’ll take Belle’s little display as a good sign that your relationships weren’t unduly damaged by my unexpected arrival Saturday night.”
“We’re doing fine, thank you very much,” I replied with a wry grin as I started walking towards her. “But speaking of Saturday night, how are you? Not unduly damaged by the trauma of my girlfriend popping into the hallway bare-naked in front of you?”
“It wasn’t the first time I’d ever seen another girl naked.” Skylar smirked and opened her arms out to me, inviting a hug, which I gladly gave her. But when we separated a moment later, the blonde gave me a curious look before stating, “I did notice, though, that Belle was quite… aroused. Skylar arched an eyebrow and looked like she wanted to continue asking me questions, perhaps curious to know further details about the girls ‘exercising’ without me. But instead it seemed that her British reserve belatedly kicked in, and she pursed her lips and shrugged, turning back towards the lecture hall. “It’s almost class time. Shall we?”
“So we shall.” I gestured with one arm like a courtier and started forward, with Skylar falling into step alongside me, not unlike the way we’d done when first arriving at the wedding. We entered the building together and then walked over to the auditorium-style lecture hall, descending the steps side-by-side chatting about… actually, I can’t remember what we were chatting about.
What I do remember was the rhythmic sound of Skylar’s high heels striking each individual stair tread. I remember the way the babbling conversations around us hushed as we descended. And with a shrug that quite plainly said, ‘Okay, whatever,’ Professor D smiled and stated, “Let’s begin.”

Naimh cleared her throat and stepped alongside me, wrapping an arm around her waist. “Well actually, Matty here should’ve known better than to invite you into our house on a Saturday night knowing that there’d be three hot and horny girls waiting for him.”

“Oh I do wish I could join you, but I’ve a rather busy schedule today,” Skylar apologized, and I found I rather liked the way she pronounced the word ‘schedule’ without the ‘c’: shhhedule. “Weekdays are just jam-packed. I barely have enough time to eat.”
“But you do have enough time to eat. You definitely had time last Wednesday. Come with us to lunch again?” Naimh asked hopefully.
“Uh, well, I suppose I’m free.” Skylar glanced at me. “But this is your special time with Matty, isn’t it? He told me about how difficult it is to find one-on-one time together and he’s been making a stronger effort to do so.”
“Well, that’s true,” Naimh admitted while hugging me against her side. “But then again, he also understands how difficult it is to make friends sometimes. Really tight friends.”
I could hear Naimh’s pining for a BFF in the subtext of her voice and gave Skylar a welcoming smile. “We’d love to have you join us for lunch today,” I told her sincerely.
“And even if your weekdays are jam-packed, what about a weekend?” Naimh continued. “Ooh! Matty said you wanted to go to the beach. How about we do a beach trip together on Saturday! All of us!”
“Ahhh… well…” Skylar stalled momentarily while thinking it over. I could tell she liked the idea of going to the beach, but she was also a little nervous at the prospect of meeting all of the girls. For as enthusiastic as she’d been to meet them after the wedding, she certainly seemed to be having second thoughts now.
“C’mon, you’ll have a cracking good time. I’ll bet you look wicked hot in a bikini,” Naimh encouraged. “And don’t worry ’bout Saturday night. It’s already forgotten, remember?”

Just let me know when and where to meet you.”
“Ace! I still need to run it by the other girls but I’m sure I can convince them. Give me your address and we’ll come pick you up in Matty’s van Saturday morning. Well, not morning because we kinda sleep in on Saturdays. But like… midday. Probably noon? Oh we’ll figure it out and Matty has your number so he can call you with the details later. “I take it you’ve played before?” I asked as I came into view and saw her carelessly dump her backpack behind the couch and then reach down to grab a controller.
“We played GoldenEye all the time and couldn’t wait for Perfect Dark to come out,” Eva replied wistfully, before blinking away a memory. “Good times.” She picked up the other controller, as if testing to see if it suited her any better, and then shot me a smirk, challenging, “You mind if I exit your game? C’mon, Matty. Let’s play multiplayer. Betcha I can kick yo’ ass, haole.”
I grinned, dropped down onto the seat beside her, and picked up my controller.
