Weekly Update! New commission GIFs! Small update on the second commission and a disaster for Jane x Springtrap!

A nice bit of progress has been made on the Dwight x Ripley animation! The short intro has been animated and the only major thing to be done on it is adding some props in the background on the Dwight POV shots.
Maybe adding some slight finger movement to Ripley and animated Dwight's mouth a little, but overall it's all done for the intro.
Then we move onto the inserting scene and the normal looping animation starts, we start off slow but the speed will increase and Dwight will go deeper into Ripley as time goes on before ending with a climax. Making good progress on this project so far though :D
For the Marvel Rivals commission, there was a change in one of the characters from Psylock to Black Widow. I also worked on getting the outfits for both Black Widow and Magik ready as well as building the environment.
Some slight changes need to be made to both models from feedback I got but they are pretty much ready to go! The environment on the other hand was very tricky to start piecing it together and when I went to work on textures none of the textures had been exported and the material names to help me find the textures didn't lead me anywhere D: I found out the problem was with how I exported the models to begin with so I did that again and the textures are now all there but it took awhile figuring this all out so I don't have any progress to show there :(
Now the last thing I worked on was the Jane x Springtrap project and oh boy did that start falling apart! When I updated to Blender 4.3 and checked this project everything seemed okay but I tdid fix some lighting issues but nothing looked as if there was a major problem. I did the animation bits I wanted to get done and no issues there either but when I started adding missing textures to all the areas we are now seeing everything started running slowly and I was met with a lot of crashes.
I figured it is what it is and kept getting stuff done until I wanted to do a few test renders and I discovered that my render time had gone from 4 seconds a frame to 2minutes!! I'll go over more about this in a bit. For now I'll show you some GIFs of the next scene.
This is a POV from Jane as she is exploring the pizzeria.
She looks around for a little bit before hearing a noise and rushing to this storage area. I need to add a lot more props in all the areas we are seeing and I plan on adding some head bobbing as Jane is rushing to the storage room to make it look like she is moving rather than a weird glide it looks like now.
The last part that happens is Jane looking into this room before hearing something above her and we see a quick glimpse of Springtrap crawling away. Jane will look at the vents for a bit more following the noise as he is crawling away and I plan on adding some shifting to the vents and some falling dust to show Springtrap moving in them.
You probably noticed but there is a lot of models here that have no textures on them and that's because of dealing with the issues I mentioned above and running out of time to get this part rendered in time for today's update D:
I tried speeding up the render as much as I could but the lowest I could get it to was 40 seconds a frame which was still way too much. So far for me there have been more negatives than positives since I switched to Blender 4.3 so for this project I went back to Blender 3.6 as it immediately improved render times but sadly from reverting to the old Blender it screwed up a lot of my materials and messed up the ambient occlusion and screen space reflections settings I had set up and even screwing up some of the normals shading of a lot of the meshes.
For the two commissions I'll be sticking with Blender 4.3 to learn it more and get better at it but if I'm not happy after those two projects I'll probably switch back to Blender 3.6 or maybe Blender 4.1 as I've seen some people online say that's not a bad version to switch to.
So not going to lie I have felt pretty defeated with how this project went and I was close to putting it on hold completely but I'm going to rest on that and see how I feel later. I've got a lot to fix on it now and I've been put off it a bit.
But that's all from me for now :) and to let everyone know there won't be a weekly update next week as i'm taking the week off for my birthday ^_^ but the week after everything will be back to normal. I may do a little of the Jane x Springtrap project but that's because I am not happy with the state it's in right now.
