You’re once again maintaining a high standard. I don’t want a happy ending. I remember the excellent film Leaving Las Vegas. It featured many raw, grim scenes from the life of a prostitute. The downfall of the character played by Cage perfectly mirrors the fall of a well-behaved girl from a small town. This film is a true classic, with powerful emotional scenes. It showed that a “good” ending is not always the right choice for a creator — happy endings are easy to forget, while sad, unresolved ones stay with the audience, especially when they leave room to imagine what comes next.
