FF8:R v1.0.2 Steam Update! PLEASE READ!!!
🕑 Added 2021-10-06 17:43:17 +0000 UTCSE has Updated FF8:Remastered STEAM yesterday with a NEW PATCH!
This patch fixes the FPS issues that we've been using SpecialK to fix.
While this is GREAT NEWS, and removes the need for SpecialK, it's also not great for those of you just getting the mods now, as the new patch breaks DEMASTER's current release. Maki, the mod mastermind behind DEMASTER is currently working on updating the mod tool in order to be compatible for this latest release!
While you wait, either don't update the game (play in offline mode, etc.), or if it's too late and the game is already updated, you can always revert to the older patch in order to implement the mods in the meantime. Instructions to do so are available via a reddit thread found HERE:

I'll also be posting an update on progress, with previews of the new iterations of the mods as I prepare everything for the Lunatic Pandora Ultima: Remastered release!
I got a little carried away and as DEMASTER was updated with new features and added a LOT of new features and added textures that I'll be going over in that update.

It's ready now, but it relies on a component that MCindus doesn't maintain, and the most recent update broke that component. The person who does maintain it hasn't given a time estimate for a fix, although they are aware, and are working on it.

I'd just like to chime in that sadly, Valve removed the ability to download older versions using this method back in 2020. However, there is a 3rd party app that allows you to download older versions. But the bad news is that in order to use this app you must type in your steam password in plaintext into the app itself. At this point, I'm not willing to go that far, so we'll have to content ourselves with waiting until Maki releases a new version of the DEMASTER mod.
