This mod is for Final Fantasy VIII Remastered (2019) Steam/PC version only!
This is a HUGE Overhaul to the previous LunarCry!
Mod is Dependent on DEMASTER, FMT, and Rebirth Flame mods (see below).
ALL Enemies, GFs, and Bosses improved! (Battle and Field Models)
Custom Artwork, AI Upscaling, and AI prompt generation utilized.
Massive body of work! Over 500 Texture pages improved!
*Bonus! Missile Base Characters now match their disguises!
You MUST use this version of DEMASTER along with the patch:

Proper installation order:
1. FMT Install
2. Rebirth Flame HD (Vanilla or SR versions)
3. Lunar Cry ULTIMA
4. Lionheart (Weapons)
(ALL Other mods can be installed in any order)

INSTALLING LUNAR CRY:
To install, simply move the /textures folder into your DEMASTER_EXP folder and merge with the textures folder there! (Do NOT Replace!)

Every now and again I have hope that the updates to this mod pack will be quality. So I pay the $5, download the mods, and try them out. Every time I'm left wondering why we bother paying this guys rent. None of the downloads have intuitive names. You have to read the descriptions to even have a clue what they're going to update. Bugs, bugs, and more bugs. And the installer has been "Coming very soon" for 8 years. This is the worst managed project I've had the displeasure of supporting.

Yeah. I ran into missing textures and messed up textures on enemies with this mod. I am going to re-install and not use it. Also, the game is trying to kick me out after I installed it.

Have you run into any crashing issues? I've found quite a few missing textures right after the SeeD exam test results, in the dorms. NVM, just read the full post up top, lol.

Hello MCindus, can you tell us how to fix the shiva invocation that crash the game ? I also have installed the mods in the right order but some monsters textures are messed up like others said it before, can you help us please ?

The Lunar Cry 2.1 mod works fine. Just don’t install the demaster patch linked here because it will break it. For those using Steam Deck, I recommend not installing the Rebirth and Lionheart mods because they make the game stutter badly when battle stars and it loads the party members. Not a big deal but I found it annoying after a while. These are the mods I have on my Steam Deck that work great: 1) Field Texture Remastered 2) Lunar Cry 2.1 3) Angelwing with the demaster patch included in the pinned Angel Wing post 4) Horizon 5) Triple Triad 6) Battlefield Pack Ultima 7) FF8 FMVs CG4x (available on the mod discord) 8) Ragnarok Rebalancing Mod (this is like the New Threat mod for ff7, recommended!) How to install on Steam Deck: Install the FF8 Remastered game through Steam on your Steam Deck, open it once then close. Mod the game on a Windows PC , transfer and overwrite all the game contents to your Steam Deck. Then add the following launch command to the game on your Steam Deck: export WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b"; %command%

Hi everyone! I found out that FTM is field texture remastered by visiting the mod Discord, you can get the mod files there. However it looks like there are multiple bugs in this version of Lunar Cry with missing textures; I myself encountered missing textures with NPCs at the library in Balamb and also summoning Shiva crashes the game. Other people were having these issues on the mod Discord so I think I will wait to replay this game until they are fixed. Thank you for all your work!

Shiva, Carbuncle, & GIM47N textures not showing correctly. Replaced Shiva with Originals and shows correct. Also had issue with Siefer at end of Disk 1 showing as Grey then CTD. Removed Demaster folder for end and no CTD. Not sure if it is this mod though. Otherwise great mod.

Hi this mod has made the galbaldia soldiers and ifrit look messed up like there’s something wrong with the textures of a lot of enemies. Everything was installed in order so I don’t know what’s going on with enemy textures. P.S playing on a steam deck with demaster

For me it was easier to install it with DEMASTER on PC and copy all files to the steam deck e.g. with winpinator / warpinator
