Wiped Data
It’s been a while since I was active here. A few weeks back my main data drive got wiped. I’d been moving around with the drive in hand – it slipped, hit the ground, and the HDD died. My PC had been freshly wiped not long before, so I was left with almost no local data and a drive that only made clicky sounds.
As soon as I saw how bad it was, I started rebuilding and digging for backups. I’ve spent the last stretch recreating PSDs, scripts, Unity projects, Substance files, SB3 assets, Blender templates, basic mods – the whole toolbox. I still have plenty left to redo, but at this point I’ve recovered enough essentials to keep working.
I didn’t want to show up empty-handed, so I stayed quiet until I felt sure I could move forward. Sorry for the silence.
The drive itself – I sent it for recovery. The techs were pro, but the platters were scratched and nothing came back - somethign about the magnetic thingy scratchy. I bought a SSD now and managed to scrape a few files from old Mega backups and temp folders. Not much, but enough to ease the load.
It sucked. But, it forced me to streamline my workflow and rethink how I handle projects. Now I’m eager and ready to show you the good stuff that’s coming. ;3

Vanilla the Rabbit
Vanilla the Rabbit is up next - a sweet little victory after the data-wipe mess. I managed to salvage her base files because I was still working on here when moving. Most of what I was able to recover from Mega I could because my HD was getting corrupted everytime I moved files! So I saved a prior version before I lost all. So she skipped most of the rebuild queue and hopped straight to the finish line. I still have plenty of workflow to rebuild, but Vanilla is ready Expect a juicy preview tomorrow and the full drop on Thursday. :3

I know this is very important for you guys and I have good news: I also recovered an older Judy build from a Mega backup - so I lost progress, but not the whole project. I’m redoing mouth expressions, some mesh cleanup, badge and a few scene assets. I kept the KK-friendly approach for performance. If she’s ready, she’ll be here next week. If she slips, I have a backup release queued so you'll have something!

oof yea i've had a few corrupt usb/hdd, I recommend disk drill or dmde. If you can figure out booting to linux there are way better and free options as well

Yeah, I know. I'll definitely get some extra backups. I think SSDs are more reliable but I'm still leaving 2 copies on my PC just in case. ':D

I know what it is and it's really annoying. I recommend an extra hard drive to use as a backup, some simple pen drives (2 or 3), also save with them once or twice a week as a backup and that's it.
