Nahida's True Power: Knowledge in the Irminsul 5

But perhaps, one day, she might be able to convince Nahida or Paimon that the current reality wasn’t entirely true. After all, Lumine could hear Nahida and Paimon talking. They were still the same people—just hundreds of times larger than she was.
While Lumine struggled against a worthy opponent—the tension of Nahida’s stirrups—the two girls continued their conversation. They discussed Lumine’s very nature. How could such a tiny girl even exist at all?
That was it. Irminsul couldn’t possibly patch every inconsistency caused by such a massive historical intervention. There had to be gaps. And if Lumine could point those inconsistencies out to Nahida and Paimon, then maybe—
One millimeter.
Nahida had forgotten to disconnect from Irminsul’s system of knowledge. And so, her words still carried weight within the Tree of Knowledge. Even her casual remarks continued to shape reality.
Lumine suddenly felt the tension of the sock tighten. At first, she thought Nahida was simply adjusting it. But the truth was far worse. Lumine was getting weaker. She was shrinking.
Compared to what she was about to become, her current size felt enormous—almost titanic.
In an instant, the distance between Nahida’s foot and her sock turned into a vast abyss. Lumine began to fall, shrinking rapidly as she did. The warmth and scent surrounding her felt different now—enveloping, heavy, and strangely calming.
Lumine was terrified of what she had become after shrinking once again—of what the world now perceived her as.
Then, fortunately for her, she heard Nahida’s voice.
“Oops… it seems my familiar fell into my sock again.”
Her voice sounded divine.
And although Lumine was now something even smaller than a pet, the world still knew of her existence. People still remembered her.
All that remained… was to find a way out.
