My good friend and Best Man got me into Pat Metheny back in 1980. Since then I've seen the Pat Metheny Group 3 times and Pat Metheny (not Pat Metheny Group) once. Basically, without Lyle Mays and Danny Gottlieb

Fantastic reaction guys! This song is infectious - it’s been a favorite of mine from him since the very first time I heard it. And that long vocal bridge ❤️ It wasn’t uncommon for Pat’s hands to be bloody after playing this live. The energy in the room as I watched him play was absolutely amazing.

He must have listened to Brazilian music a lot and I know he is on a Milton Nascimento record https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpEmtLdJFvs Angelus might be the most accessible album. You might like an album Milton made with Wayne Shorter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iZ7id-lxXo&list=PLQSGKwfvWpEEPrVMzJTQZ12o0gJIO6uUM

This is truly great work. Pat Matheny has created some great compositions. Billy Joel has been quoted say "I admire Pat Matheny for his ability to convey his visionary compositions. Pat was a great pioneer for true Jazz. Billy Joel has created brilliant work himself.

I've been blessed to be able to see Pat 4 times, twice with the Pat Metheny group. First Circle was the highlight of the PMG concert at Meadowbrook Theater in Michigan, 1995. I'd love to see you react to Last Train Home from the Still Life Talking album!

Rest In Peace Lyle Mays. I have worked on a lot of paintings while listening to Pat Metheny. Saw them perform 3 times in the 80s. Unbelievable musicians, love your reactions.

Yes! That’s exactly what happens. Thank you!

I saw the Pat Metheny Group at the Alabama Theater in Birmingham in October of 86'. They were excellent, they perform this song there. I saw them again at the Fox in Atlanta Georgia, and again saw them play this, I don't remember what year that was. They were so good live, what a great band. Don't worry about getting emotional when you listen to great music Nick, now I know I'm not alone. It has the ability to well up inside of you, and it has to come out somehow. For me, often, it's crying. When you come across some things that are so beautiful, you just can't hold it inside.

That is so sweet of you! Thank you so much for your constant love and support!

So glad you started with Pat. So much goodness to come, now that you are on Patreon. I support only two others on Patreon, but you are already my favorite. Thanks for working so hard!
