Custom Nuptials

What It Is
This is a mod that allows for gameplay around taking the next step beyond boyfriend/girlfriend/significant other in Sim's relationships. With this mod, that can either become engaged or enter a commitment which might lead to marriage or a civil partnership. Additionally, it adds tweaks to MWS to allow for actual reactions and variations with those reactions to the planning and social interactions from that pack and ports the improved versions into the base game. Finally, it adds additional gameplay around the big day itself with the player/Sim being afforded more choices as to how they want to plan that event.

How It Works
I was able to make a single version that enables the features of MWS if you have it and gives you some of the planning options if you do not. I did not add any attendants to BG weddings! There's a new menu on Sims, Computers, and Phones and during Socials called Custom Nuptials that includes the options.
Changes to Proposals
Now your sims can only propose if they are in a relationship with another sim. They also must first have purchased an engagement/commitment ring. This applies to proposing to be engaged and proposing to be committed. Before proposing, your sims can drop hints to their boyfriend/girlfriend/significant other, browse the internet for rings, and shop for the rings.
New Relationship Statuses - Committed/Partners
Not all Sims who are in loving and faithful relationships want to become engaged or get married. Therefore two new relationship statuses were added with this mod. The first one is Committed. This is the relationship that Sims enter into when they decided to enter a Civil Partnership. Once they elope or have their commitment ceremony, they will become Partners.
New Socials
In addition to the socials added from MWS for the BG version with additions, the mod includes socials for dropping hints about engagement/commitment if your sims aren't yet engaged/committed, getting opinions from other sims on wedding ring choices, discussing each aspect of the event (wedding or commitment ceremony) with your intended, and the ability to even get into arguments if the visions diverge.
There's also the ability to invite people on a Sim by Sim basis to your wedding/ceremony in addition to sending out formal invitations in case you forget someone!
There is also a new proposal type - Propose Civil Partnership - that will lead to a new type of relationship status that opens up the door to a Commitment Ceremony.
New Interactions
Most new interactions are either available on the phone, computer, and by clicking on the Sim. A few are available before the engagement/commitment, most during, and the honeymoon is available after.
Pre-Engagement/Commitment
Sims can look up engagement/commitment rings and get opinions from other Sims. They can also go shopping for engagement/commitment rings. They can drop hints to their significant other that they'd like a proposal.
During Engagement/Commitment
In addition to the interactions ported from MWS to BG and included as an option in the MWS version, including cake tasting, florist, apparel shopping, venue tours, and meeting with an officiant, there's the ability to go to a stylist, financial advisor, legal consultant, counseling, getting marriage license, and a rabbithole rehearsal and rehearsal dinner.
Sims can also book their honeymoon arrangements, start a wedding website, browse forums, check vendor reviews, and look up hairstyles and makeup tips.
Sims can invite others to their wedding via the relationship panel, by speaking with them, or through the planner. Only sims who have been invited by a member of the wedding/ceremony couple will show up as possible guests via the event.
Sims have the option to setup a registry. They can specific whether or not they want to receive physical gifts, monetary gifts, or both. Depending on what they select, they will receive either or both upon the end of their commitment ceremony/wedding. Physical gifts will show up in the household inventory not the sim's inventory!
Some interactions in the MWS version are available within the town square by clicking on the shells.
Event Coordinator Option
Upon engagement or commitment, an Event Coordinator should contact your sim. You can decide to tell them whether you're planning to elope, do it yourself, or would like the coordinator's services. The main idea behind the coordinator is that they ask guided questions about the setup of the event, will precheck off things based on the consult in the planning checklist, and will periodically check in with the sims to see how the planning is going up until the big day. The coordinator will also be present at the ceremony.
Event Planner/Tracker
Hiring an event coordinator unlocks the ability to access the planner on the phone, tablet, and computer but the checklist is always available by clicking on the Sim. The checklist will help the Sim to keep track of important details or arrangements or options available to help plan a successful event. The Sim can get information on how to complete the checklist items, they will be checked off once complete, and clicking on an unchecked item will either push the sim to do that interaction or give them information about what must be done for that to be complete.
Honeymoon
Your sims can browse honeymoon getaways and book travel arrangements and accommodations before their wedding/commitment ceremony or after. The price of travel and accommodations fluctuates, so depending on when it's booked it can be more expensive or less expensive so keep an eye out for potentially better prices later in the day or next day.
Sims can only go on honeymoon once married/partners. There's a new option on the phone in the Custom Nuptials menu to go on the honeymoon once those arrangements have been made. Using this option versus the Plan Vacation will allow for special moodlets. This also works with SimNation Travel.
Notes/Quirks
- Proposals will now require your sims to be in a relationship and for your sims to purchase a ring. They can be autonomous!
- Before the wedding/commitment ceremony, your sim must set a type! Once you do that you should be able to plan your wedding/commitment ceremony. You can do this by clicking on the Custom Nuptial menu on the Sim or by choosing the type during the initial consultation with the Event Coordinator. Only the sim making most of the decisions should do this!
- If you have already scheduled a wedding before installing, you must cancel it and reschedule it again in order for the mod to "count" it.
- The wedding event UI prevents sims who are committed from scheduling a MWS commitment ceremony from the calendar.
- The Sim who hires the Event Coordinator must be the same sim who makes most of the decisions in order for the planner to track correctly. If you don't hire a coordinator, one sim must be the main planner in order for the planner to track correctly.

*This mod does not require My Wedding Stories. If you have MWS installed, more options are available to you via the mod, but if you don't have MWS, a few features (listed above) from MWS are cloned into this mod.*
Compatibility
This mod conflicts with Bienchen's WeddingGPSocialTweak and AutoWeddingRings.
It will also conflict with PolarBearSim's Autonomous Proposals, Autonomous Weddings, and Autonomous Breakups. Alternatives here and here.
This conflicts with (but already includes my version of ) MissyHissy's Rehearsal Dinner restaurant tweak as well as MissyHissy's Wedding Planning Pie menus.
Only download the MissyHissy compatibility file if you use that mod!
I did not find anything else that conflicts but if you do please let me know!

Did you complete all the steps required to have a regular wedding ceremony - became engaged, booked a venue, paid the deposit, got a license, etc?

Hi, I cannot choose the option to create an event for a regular wedding. My sims are engaged but it still only shows the option for commitment ceremony. I tried re-installing the mod and also cleaning my cache but no success. :/ I have no mods that should be conflicting with this.
