🕑 Added 2024-04-12 21:46:20 +0000 UTCThis is a mod is a collaboration between myself and PandaSama that is made to encourage and introduce new ways to live healthier lifestyle for your Sims. PandaSama made all of the wonderful custom animations, food, drinks, and objects used in this mod and I tried to create systems and functionality to enhance your Sim's ability to start and continue healthier habits and integrate Base Game and pack specific gameplay into these goals.
Sims must watch what they eat and chose the best exercises for their goals, they can now sign up for health club memberships, engage in new fitness and wellness activities, sign up for healthy meal delivery service, and utilize new objects to keep track of their weight, metabolism, and muscle mass as well as track progress for new fitness and weight loss programs administered by the Gym Trainer or the new Nutritionist NPC.
Simwell Health Club Hub
The Simwell Health Club app is the hub for all your Simwell Healthy Lifestyle interactions. You can sign up and manage your Sim's health club membership, buy The Sage Carrot Health Food meals and smoothies as well as sign up and manage your healthy foods delivery service subscription, purchase fitness and wellness equipment and accessories like the new SimFit Smart Watch or Kiloway Smart Scale or even supplements to potentially help with weight loss or muscle gains, as well as utilize new fitness programs and classes, and attend the gym or spa or the health center (which is a combination) in rabbithole form.
Sims who have memberships do not pay for classes and programs or the gym, spa, or health center. They also receive discounts at the health shop.
Diet and Calorie Changes
Rebalanced Calories
A lot of foods in the game did not have calories or their calories were unbalanced. All game foods and drinks have had their calories rebalanced in such a way that your sim will need to eat and drink a varied, diverse diet in order to maintain a healthy weight. Junk foods are high in calories, vegetables and fruits lower in calories, and a few foods have negative calories and even less have zero calories. There are new supplements in the game which can - but are not guaranteed - aid in weight loss or muscle gains but may also come with side effects if taken.
Metabolism/Metabolic Rate
Originally, almost all foods resulted in calorie gain because sims didn't have a base metabolism. Sims now have either an average, slow, or fast metabolism. Sims with slow metabolisms burn calories slower than sims with average and fast metabolisms and Sims with fast metabolisms burn calories at a higher rate than Sims with slow or average metabolism.
This means it takes more effort for Sims with slow metabolisms to lose weight without trying or watching what they eat but eating junk food has slightly less consequences for those with fast metabolism. Your sim can check their metabolism, weight, and muscle mass via the new objects: the SimFit Smart Watch and the Kiloway Smart Scale.
Fitness and Wellness Activity Impact
Additionally, all game exercises and wellness activities (including ones which for some reason EA didn't include in either weight gain/loss or muscle gain/loss) have been modified to have some degree of weight gain/loss or muscle gain/loss but how much depends on both the type of activity and the intensity.
Weight and Muscle gains and losses are less drastic than before (and in some cases, brand new to those interactions) but again, depends on activity and intensity. Your sim can check their metabolism, weight, and muscle mass via the new objects: the SimFit Smart Watch and the Kiloway Smart Scale.
There are new supplements in the game which can - but are not guaranteed - aid in weight loss or muscle gains but may also come with side effects if taken.
Gym and Spa Venue Changes
Membership Requirement
There has also been a revamp of the game's Spa and Gym venues which force Sims to sign up for Health Club memberships if they wish to utilize the facilities. See more about Simwell Health Club memberships below. Sims will autonomously sign up for Single Day Memberships if they aren't full members, but the option to sign up for full memberships are always available both at the Spa, Gym, and on the phone/Sim menu.
Front Desk Staff and Nutritionist
There are two new staff members on spa and gym lots: a front desk Sim with whom you can ask about and sign up for memberships and a Nutritionist who administers the weight loss program and dispenses nutrition and diet advice.
The Front Desk Staff member will need a computer and either THE Front Desk from Get to Work or the included THE Staff Desk placed on the spa and gym lots in order to function as designed but can work, just not as intended, with any desk and computer.
Barista and Bartender
A barista and bartender will now spawn on spa and bar venues without needing to be hired if those objects are placed.
Healthy Habits Program
The Nutritionist, Yoga Instructor, Massage Therapists/Reflexologists, and the Gym Trainer have new interactions which are unique to them. You can ask the Gym Trainer about Fitness Advice, the Yoga Instructor and Massage Therapists/Reflexologists about Wellness Advice, and the Nutritionist about Diet and Nutrition advice.
Additionally, you can ask the Nutritionist and Gym Trainer about the Simwell Health Club's Healthy Habits program. They will decide if it's appropriate for your sim based on their fitness level/weight. The two programs under the healthy habits program are designed to help Sim's increase their physical fitness or guide them through their weight loss journey all in an effort to build a healthier lifestyle.
Personal Fitness Training Program
The Gym Trainer now offers a 3 session personal fitness training program which cycles between cardio days, strength training days, and circuit fusion days. Once you have signed up for a membership, when you are either in your home gym as a Signature member or any gym as a Premier member, you can ask the trainer about the program. After hearing about the program, you can then sign up, if they decide it seems like a good idea. Each time you come to the gym, you will have to speak to the Trainer about beginning a training session. You can track your progress with the Healthy Habits Program Tracker in the Simwell hub.
Weight Loss Program
The weight loss program is administered by the nutritionist and lasts for 10 days. The program officially begins the day after you sign up. Once you have signed up for a membership, when you are either in your home gym or spa as a Signature member or any gym or spa as a Premier member, you can ask the Nutritionist about the program. After hearing about the program, you can then sign up, if they decide it seems like a good idea. The program includes periodic check-ins with the nutritionist during the 10 days, daily progress reports on weight gained/loss, diet choices, and physical activity for the previous day to inform Sim's of their progress and give them goals for the next day, as well as the ability to participate in group workshops for motivation and support. You can track your progress with the Healthy Habits Program Tracker in the Simwell hub.
Simwell Health Club Membership
In order to utilize any features or objects (besides the mirror, sink, and toilet) at a gym or a spa and to access the services of the gym trainer and nutritionist, your sim (or someone in their household which applies only to family memberships) will need to sign up for a Simwell Health Club Membership. Sims can sign up on the phone/Sim menu or at the Spa or Gym by speaking with an employee. There are three different types of memberships available.
Single Day Memberships
Single Day Memberships give your sims (and their household if they are also at the gym or spa) a one day access to the amenities of the spa and gym. You can choose individual or family access. It is only valid on the day issued between 7am and 10pm.
Signature Memberships
Signature Memberships are the cheapest and most varied type of memberships. Sims can sign up for a discounted Student membership (if a uni student), a discounted Senior membership (if an Elder), an Individual Membership (if the Sim is not a uni student or an elder), or a Family Membership which will cover access for the entire household. Signature memberships only cover access to local the spa and/or gym (the one in your sim's neighborhood). If a Signature member goes to a gym or spa outside of their neighborhood, they will need to purchase discount Single Day membership to use the facility. Signature members get a small discount as well in the Simwell Health Shop.
Premier Memberships
A premium option with the most benefits, Premier memberships are the most expensive and there are only two options: an individual membership and a Family membership to cover all sims in the household. Premier members enjoy deep discounts in the health shop as well as when buying from partners like The Sage Carrot Health Foods Co. Premier members have access to discounted weight loss and fitness programs as well as access to all spas and gyms everywhere.
Billing
Your Sim's membership automatically renews every 30 days (monthly). If there are not sufficient funds to cover your sim's membership when time to autorenew, Sims will be notified by a staff member and have the option to either receive a payment extension of 24 hours or cancel their membership at that time. If you would like to stop autorenewal, you can move to month to month membership. A few days before month to month membership is to expire, a staff member will contact your sim to remind them to pay the membership dues. If they have not paid by the end of the 30 days, their membership will expire. If you wish to change tiers, change billing, or cancel your sim's membership, Sims can do so via the Simwell Health Club hub. If your Sim cancels their membership before the end of the 30 day, they are able to keep using their membership until the membership period ends unless choosing to cancel effective immediately.
Fitness Classes and Programs
There are new options for your Sims, depending on age, to engage in fitness and wellness activities. Sims will gain skills and react to their time at class. They also invite others. Sims who have memberships do not pay for classes and programs.
The Sage Carrot Health Food Service
In an effort to help Sims with healthier food options, The Sage Carrot Health Food Co. offers healthy meal and drink options both as part of an a la carte order or via a weekly subscription delivery service. Simwell Health Club partners with the company to provide both discounted trials (or free if you get a coupon from the Trainer or Nutritionist before starting by asking about the Healthy Habits Program and eating healthier) and significantly discounted subscription delivery for Premier members.
Sims can order smoothies and meals a la carte from the service or sign up for a weekly subscription. When signing up for a weekly subscription, Sims can specify if they would like to receive breakfasts, lunches, and/or dinners in their subscription boxes as well as the quantity they wish to receive. Breakfasts range from $10-15, lunches from $15-20, and dinners from $20-25, though subscription prices are discounted. What is included in the meal boxes varies from week to week and whether or not your Sim is a vegetarian.

Hello! I love your healthy delivery service "a la carte" option. Just wondering if you will release the recipes for these dishes, so they can cook them and maybe get a "healthy living" buff after eating. Thanks so much, I love all of your mods.

This is really cool! But I wonder if it'll ever have a cheat to change things like metabolism in a future update? Also, are Sims' weight and muscle mass based in CAS?

I don't know how I missed your comment but the whole point of the section above under Fitness and Wellness Activity Impact is to correct the oversight of EA not accounting for activities which are included in packs but aren't included as things which help you lose weight and/or gain muscle. As stated above under Diet and Calorie Changes I have completely redone how calories are accumulated in the game.

My question has to do with the range of activities/exercise that count for losing weight, since I know that even EA doesn't account for everything. I don't know if you have a separate calorie deficit system for weight loss or use EAs. I am not sure if things like walking the dog, yoga, or riding a horse count for this. Or do only the classes you can take through the health clubs count as well as gym activities? And can I also say how brilliant your Golden Years mod is ?

Furniture and large items usually show up in the family inventory not in personal inventories.

If they have calories in their foods, their calories will count towards sims gaining or losing weight.

I love this mod so much but the issue I'm having is my sims can't use anything in the household such as the shower unless they have a membership. Could it be a conflict somewhere?
