Personal Sim Hygiene
🕑 Added 2022-12-21 06:01:44 +0000 UTCThis is a fairly straightforward mod. It encompasses some basic hygiene into the sims if you're not interested in something larger like Dental Care or don't want Preteens but like the hygiene aspects.
How it Works
Dental Hygiene
Sims will get bad breath buff when they don't brush their teeth for more than 24 hours and this can affect those around them. There's also a small chance they can get cavities. You can prevent this by brushing regularly. If your sim does get a cavity, they can go to the dentist to get a filling. The dentist can be found under the Household menu on the phone.
Body Hygiene
Sims will have an occasional buff where their skin is dry. Applying lotion will eliminate this buff as well as other itchy buffs.
Sims can apply deodorant (click on the sim). Deodorant will temporarily slow the hygiene decay.
Sims can also use body spray or perfume (click on the sim). It will sometimes give sims a confidence boost or can sometimes make them dizzy. It can also affect other sims.
Sims can use the mirror to put product in their hair. They will get a quick moodlet from tamed hair. Product can cause build up which can contribute to the need for showering/bathing/washing hair.
I've added the ability for YA-Elders to apply facial cleanser. It obviously won't prevent acne the same.
Hand Hygiene
Your sims will show a buff if their hands are dirty. Washing hands removes this buff.
Compatibility
Requires the Shared Library
The dental hygiene package will conflict with Dental Care.
Base Game compatible though see note below.
Note:
The the Body Hygiene file use animations from Snowy Escape and High School Years. If the packs are not installed, the animations will simply be missing. Neither pack is required.
Instructions
1. Install the adeepindigo_smallmods_personalhygiene_base package. It's the core required file for this mod.
2. If you want all features of the mod, install all modules. Otherwise, only install the modules for features which you want in your game.
3. Download the Shared Library if you do not already have it.

Hi so will this conflict with the Visible hands hygiene/oral hygiene/thirst mods that Zer0 made? or does this make theirs pointless? They also have a cheat to fill hidden needs as well, does yours have something similar? Thanks!

So how often sims need to do it is actually an EA thing - you just don't normally see their hand washing need - but I can cooldown how often you *see* it.

Love this mod. However, can we have a cooldown period? the constant dirty hand moodlet is kind of annoying. Can it be when they perform dirty activities? Like going outside, gardening or using the bathroom? My sim washed some dirty dishes and had the moodlet and I had just washed his hands right before that because he came in from outside checking the mail..

I was able to fix it. I took out all of your mods and made sure that there were no duplicates and they were up-to-date and then put them back in. Thank you for replying so fast and on Christmas, you're the best!

Do you have HSY that’s required for facial cleanser and an adult. The others need to be adult sims. Are you trying this on a child?

I click on the mirror and the sim. On the mirror I get the option for perfume, but nothing else like facial cleanser or deodorant, or hair product. Same for the sim, except I don't get any of the options when I click on them.

I don't have a chance to test this since I'm playing a single sim household at the moment, but did you, by chance, reduce the broadcaster distance for bad breath at all in this? I appreciate the lighter mod. Thanks, and merry Christmas!

I don't have anything called a core library so I'm not sure what you're talking about. The Shared Library is required as it states in the installation instructions and there's a link directly to it...?

Hi, so I've installed this mod today. But when I go to the phone it says $150 and that's it, there's nothing telling me what the $150 is for. I let my sim travel and they came back with a dental message. I currently do not have the Dental Mod installed and i know you wrote that we do not need it if we have this installed. No last exception pops up. I've also tested all mods and made sure it was nothing else. Everything is displayed fine until i put this one mod back in and the 150 shows up with no explanation on what the 150 is for.

I am absolutely obsessed with your mods, and I’m just further mind blown by the thought process when it comes to the sim hygiene. As an almost clean freak, I’m so happy about how much this adds to the game even though it is simplistic. The realistic feel of it goes to another level.
