🕑 Added 2019-08-28 11:26:28 +0000 UTC요며칠 아파서 고생을 했던 조조의 몸에서는 꼬랑 꼬랑 특유의 고소하면서 꼬랑한 냄새가 솔솔 났다. 설사 하고 토를 했으니 당연하다. 이제 나은 조조를 데리고 산책을 다녀와서 목욕을 시켰다. 보송 보송 말리고 나니 조조한테서는 향긋한 샴푸 냄새가 났다. 털도 이쁘게 깎아야지, 바리깡과 가위로 슥삭 슥삭 미용을 하고 있었다. 오늘따라 평소에는 자르지 않던 귀 뒷쪽 털도 예쁘게 정리해주고 싶었다. 그러면 더 귀엽겠는걸? 그렇게 가위를 가져갔고, 사고가 벌어지고 말았다.
조조가 한순간 날카롭게 울며 팔짝 뛰었다. 그 공포가 담긴 울음소리에 나도 너무 놀라 퍼뜩 방금 자른 곳을 보니, 세상에... 내가 귀를 접어 털을 자른다는 것이 그만, 피부의 표면을 벗겨낸 것이었다. 하얀 피부에 조금씩 피가 스며 나왔다. 바로 동물병원으로 갔다. 사정을 말씀드리니 귀를 살펴보시고선 "아이고 피부가 다 잘려나갔네. 많이 쓰라리겠네요." 하셨다. 소독약과 연고를 줄테니 딱지가 앉을때까지 잘 발라주라고 하시며 4-5일 후에 다시 병원에 오라고 하셨다.
선생님이 내게 줄 약을 준비하는 동안 뼈다귀 간식과 장난감들을 골랐다. 너무 미안한 마음에 이렇게라도 미안함을 표현하고 보상받고 싶어서였다. 너무 미안했다. 나보다 몇배나 큰 거인이 가위를 들고 와서 내 머리카락을 잘라주다가 귀에 상처를 낸다고 상상하면 그렇게 공포스러울 수가 없다. 조조는 얼마나 무섭고 아팠을까. 너무 미안했다.
집에 와서 소독약을 뿌렸다. 소독약이라는게 그 빨간약 이었다. 빨간 소독약이 뿌려지고 나니 웬지 상처가 훨~씬 더 심해보였다. 가슴이 찢어지는 듯 했다. 연고를 바른다고 발랐는데 조조가 불편해하면서 자꾸 바닥에 얼굴을 비벼 약을 닦아내려 했다. 그래서 새로 사온 장난감으로 놀아주고 뼈다귀를 주면서 최대한 다른쪽으로 주의를 돌리려 했다.
사람은 아프면 아프다, 괜찬으면 괜찮다 말로 표현이라도 하지. 동물은 말한마디 못하고 사람의 손에 운명을 맡겨야 한다는 사실은 너무나 무섭다. 그래서 잘해주려고 항상 최대한 노력하는데... 왜 자꾸 이렇게 실수를 하게 되는걸까. 지난주에 이모가 한 말이 있다.
"조조한테 자꾸 마음에 빚이 쌓여가. 잘해주고 싶어서 하는 일들이 자꾸 꼬이니까. 자꾸 이렇게 마음에 빚이 늘어가서 어떡하나 싶어."
오늘 나는 또 하나의 빚이 생겨 버렸다. 며칠을 고생하고 이제 건강해지나 싶었는데 또 아프게 하다니. 조금 더 주의했어야 하는데 내가 너무 밉다.

Jojo probably does know it was an accident, dogs are really good at reading human body language and getting what you're feeling. I hope he gets better soon 😊❤

Once more I agree with Sen Tenshi. I don't think you are losing trust from Jojo, don't underestimate the dog's abitlity to read your feelings and intentions. To stay with your analogy of the giant with the scissors cutting your hair - if that giant gives you shelter, feeds you and often plays and cuddles with you, then you will trust that giant. You will also trust that giant near you with the scissors to cut your hair. If the giant cuts your ear and stops immediately, if anything you will hate the scissors, not the giant. Sorry to read what happend, but you reacted well and fast. Also, i think animals can see your feelings toward them, i'm pretty sure Jojo noticed how bad you felt. Your aunt might be right, they remember the bad things but also the good things, every walk with him, every sacrifices you took to stay with him and all the times you didn't let him alone at home just so you can go to the theater or anywhere. They can see this aswell, and i'm sure his trust haven't changed. You're not a bad mom ! And this bad episode will soon be forgiven, if not already. After the rain comes the sun.
Poor Jojo :( I can't imagine the feel of guilt you must have. I usually end up cutting my fingers when I do repetitive tasks with scissors, like cooking. Only after I feel the sharp sensation, I once again realize it wouldn't hurt being more aware at times. Accidents happen, don't let that ruin the day. Best to keep both of your minds away from it and allow the medicine to work :)
痛々しいけど、急に飛び跳ねられたんじゃしかたないよ。治るまでいつもの倍、優しくしないとね^^
