🕑 Added 2019-08-30 14:13:31 +0000 UTC운전면허 필기시험을 90점으로 합격하고 바로 근처에 있는 실내 시뮬레이션 연습장에 가서 2시간 기능 시험 수업을 들었다. 한번도 차 핸들을 만져본 적이 없기 때문에 너무 궁금했다. 기분같아선 바로 바로 다 딸 수 있을 것 같았다.
그런데 시뮬레이터로 하니 전혀 감이 안왔다. 브레이크, 악셀을 얼마나 밟아야 어떻게 나가는지 영 모르겠는거다. 내가 아무리 운전이 처음이라지만 자전거 운전 경력이 얼만데 이정도로 못할리가 없어(??!) 게다가 가격도 실제 자동차로 연습하는 것에 비해 별로 저렴하지도 않았다. 그리고 난 도로주행을 도와줄 운전자도 차도 없기도 하고.
2시간 딱 연습하니 운전을 뺀 나머지를 익힐 수 있었다 ㅋㅋ 안전벨트, 시동켜기, 기어넣기 등등. 나오는 길에 깔끔하게 실제 자동차로 가르쳐주는 운전면허학원에 등록을 했다. 독학으로 면허를 따려던 계획은 시뮬레이션 2시간 후 빠르게 접은 것이다. 포기는 빠르게!
실제 차는 시뮬레이션보다 잘해야할텐데. 기대가 된다.

Congrats on passing the theoretical test. For the practical, it should be much easier when you're inside an actual car. This way you get the direct feedback of the acceleration and the braking force. It's much easier to determine the right amount of brake pressure this way. It will become second nature in no time, just like leaning into a curve on the bicycle.
Well done! You'll learn everything once you get more practice. I can recommend to go driving on empty parking lots or other secluded places at night/dawn when there are no other people and cars around. With a family member or a friend who owns a car. You get to practice parking and basic handling of the car at your own pace and without being in the way of other people :)
