무서운 운전!
🕑 Added 2019-09-05 14:49:46 +0000 UTC운전면허 기능 수업을 듣고 학과 수업도 들었는데 (필기를 합격했어도 필수로 수업을 들어야 한다), 수업을 가기 전에는 걱정이 컸다. 3시간이나 수업을 들어야 하다니 좀이 쑤셔서 어떻게 견디나 싶었다. 잠을 자기 위해서 asmr을 보는게 아니라면 30분 넘는 영상은 보기가 힘들다고...
하지만 수업은 생각보다 아주 흥미로웠고 특히 사고 영상을 보여주는 부분은 눈을 뗄 수가 없었다. 세상에. 평소에도 차를 엄청 겁내서 길을 건널 때나 신호등을 기다리며 서 있을 때도 차들을 주의 깊에 살펴보는 편인데, 영상 속 보행자들은 그야말로 “차를 무서워 하지 않는” 것처럼 보였다. 그리고 결과는 참혹.
보행자대 차는 내가 운전을 최대한 조심하면 어느 정도 회피가 가능하다지만 차대 차는 정말 무서웠다. 고속도로에서 앞차가 보복 운전으로 급정지를 해버리는 장면은 보는 것만으로 숨이 턱 막히는 기분이었다. 운이 좋아 뒷차가 없거나 서주지 않는 이상, 죽거나 크게 다치는 것 와에는 방법이 없지 않나 ... 어떻게 자동차라는 위험한 무기로 저런 행위를 할 수 있지?? 총,칼 뿐 아니라 자동차도 엄청난 무기라는 걸 안다면 어떻게 저런 몰상식하고 위협적인 행동을 할 수 있지?
면허를 따는 결과에 조금씩 가까워지면서 운전의 무서움을 다시금 느끼고 있다. 겁이 워낙 많아 위험할 것 같은 일은 일체 안하는 편이다. 밤에 외출은 커녕 낮에도 외출을 별로 하지 않는 다거나. 술도 잘 안마시니 더더욱 술 때문에 문제 생길 일 없고. 영화관이나 건물을 가도 꼭 비상구 위치는 꼼꼼히 기억해둔다거나. 그런데 이제 운전을 하게 되면 내 인생에 커다란 ‘위험요소’가 하나 생기는 것이다.
설레하고 즐거워만 하던 이전에 비해 조금 더 경각심과 책임감을 가지게 된 학과 수업이었다. 음, 여러모로 운전 면허는 돈을 들여 배울 만 하다 싶다. (독학으로 따겠다던 과거의 나, 응 안돼 ~ 돈 쓸 때는 쓰렴~)

A bit of fear of causing an accident is healthy and will result in you driving reasonably and responsibly. If an accident happens and you can tell yourself believably that you have done nothing wrong and you have a clear conscience, you will take it much easier than if you were speeding etc. In the speeding case you would always wonder if it could have been avoided if only you went slower. So stick to the rules, pay attention, stay responsible. Then your conscience will be clear and you have nothing to fear from your mind, even if an accident should happen. After all, you can not be held responsible for the mistakes of other people. Also, if an accident happended, make sure you don't wait too long before driving again. The longer you wait to drive again after an accident, the more crippling the fear of another accident will become.
Pay attention to what is in front of you, especially pedestrians and cyclists in a crossing and keep a safe distance to the car driving in front of you and you have minimized almost all the risks. Some people like to drive way too close to other cars, but do not let them intimidate you if they are behind you. Maintain your speed, they can always overtake you if they want to drive faster.

if you remember the rules and are always paying attention to where you're going, you will be perfectly fine while driving :)
