🕑 Added 2019-11-22 12:44:27 +0000 UTC내가 사는 아파트의 단점 중 하나를 꼽으라면 재활용품을 내놓는 날과 시간이 정해져 있다는 것이다. 수거해가는 날이 정해져 있고 내놓는 날은 자유이면 좋으련만, 우리동 같은 경우는 일요일 오후 2시부터 월요일 오전 11시까지 내놓을 수 있고 다른 날은 아예 재활용품을 처리하는 곳의 문이 닫혀 있다. 물론 다른 아파트 동으로 가면 수요일 오후 2시부터 목요일 오전 11시까지 내놓을 수도 있는데 거기까지는 거리가 좀 되기 때문에 재활용품을 들고 걸어가는 게 조금 번거롭다.
그때 그때 재활용 쓰레기가 있을 때마다 조금씩 내놓을 수 있으면 조조와 산책나가는 때마다 내놓으면 되니까 양도 많지 않고 쓰레기가 집에 쌓여 있지 않아 좋을 것이다. 그런데 시간이 정해져 있다보니 일주일치가 쌓이게 되면 한번에 들고 나가기 힘들 정도로 양이 많아질 때가 종종 있다. 특히 예전에 벽지 도배를 하면서 쓰레기가 나오거나 하면 그 한번의 작업만으로 종이 쓰레기가 어마어마했다. 그런 특별한 경우가 아니더라도 택배를 좀 많이 시켰다 한 날이면 포장 쓰레기의 양이 만만치 않다. 그런데 이것들을 바로 내놓을 수가 없는 것이다.
나는 청소를 좋아하지는 않는데 쌓여 있는 쓰레기를 보거나 정리되지 않은 물건을 보면 엄청나게 스트레스를 받는 편이다. 그래서 큰 물건이나 쓰레기는 그때 그때 내 눈에서 보이지 않게 정리해야 속이 시원하다. (꼼꼼하게 정리하거나 청소를 하지 않는 것도 특징이기는 하다) 그래서 재활용품이 집에 쌓여있으면 꽤 많이 스트레스를 받는다. 최악의 경우는 재활용 쓰레기가 특히 많이 쌓인 주였는데 일요일에 집을 비우게 되는 경우다. 그러면 2주치 재활용품이 쌓이게 되고 양이 많아진 재활용품은 들고 나가기가 부담스러워지고 집은 한결 쓰레기장처럼 변한다. 아… 생각만 해도 불편한 기분이 드는데 문제는 이런 경우가 꽤 많이 발생한다는 것이다.
인간은 왜이렇게 쓰레기를 많이 만들며 사는걸까? 줄이고 줄이려고 나름 노력해봐도 매번 쓰레기는 많이도 나온다. 다음번에 이사를 가는 집의 조건으로 하나를 더 추가해본다. 재활용 쓰레기를 자유롭게 내놓을 수 있는 곳으로…

Do you also have the sorting of trash? Here in Germany at every apartment block trash disposal site (fenced in, residents have a key to get in) there is usually: -a black container for actual waste (not recycleable) -a blue container for paper/cardboard -a yellow container for plastic/packaging -a brown trash can for bio-degradable And then there are special sites for glass recyclables, cleanly sorted by white/green/brown glass. So everybody can dispose (and sort) whenever they want, the only thing they ask is not to dispose glass on weekends, during the night or during siesta (1pm-3pm), so the people who live near those disposal sites are not disturbed during quiet times.

It's true, one of the difference with our two country is, there is no trash in the street or special places for this in Korea. I mean, large one, instead you guys have to wait a specific day. And also, you have to buy the bags in differents size and price. In France we have rolls full of trashbag, it doesn't cost a lot. And there is trash cleaning in the street atleast 3 time a week. A team a men who empty every trash can very early in the morning.

If there are several boxes from the parcels, maybe you can keep the largest one intact and fold the other ones, then put them into the biggest one. This way you can use the biggest box as a container to store the other boxes in very cleanly and carry it all out once the time comes. Another box might be used to store glass recyclables, a third one for plastic (also in a folded or stacked way, to minimize the volume of garbage). Or maybe there are some kids in the house who want to earn some pocket money? If their parents agree, you could take the garbage to those neighbors, give the kids some pocket money and they will take it out while you're absent on a Sunday.
