The way I clapped and cackled when Riyo lit them both up 😂 She pulled out the gun to save them imo because she would've killed them with her Jinki. Can't have that so, yeah, pull out the gun. She can aim at non vital places to take them down and out. It's too good. Also, that hand to hand combat sequence tho!!!!! 🙌🏾

And now the entire world gets to understand why I will infinitely hype up Riyo. I liked her from day one with her rather unique design and fighting style, but this chapter of the manga made her permanently S tier to me. No one else even comes close in this series. Especially how she then walks down Jabber. Just the fact you see her look around a bit, confirm no one should be able to hear it, and then pull out the gun is so damn good. She knows she can finally get away with it and decides there’s no reason to play fair. Last episode we had an inversion of tropes with Zanka failing to get a powerboost from a flashback. This time we get an even better inversion where the good guy is losing and instead of even going to a flashback or developing a new technique she just pulls out a fucking gun. Like they say, “the more complex a power system is, the funnier it is when someone pulls out a gun”. Riyo immediately proves to us that guns are 100% valid threats even in this world of magical abilities.
