Her outside appearance stayed the same because of Ifrit, but she was still aging on the inside which is why she said she was nearing the end of her life, after Ifrit was removed, it caused her body to rapidly age to match her current age.

You did hear the Gelmud name before, he gave the name to the son of the goblin leader. That was said before RImuru fought the direwolves. So you arent imagining things. Also dont know if you noticed how gentle the Predator skill was when Rimuru used it on Shizu, in contrast the Predator-skill animation against Veldora and Ifrit looked more "violent". That was a really nice touch in my opinion and shows how much Rimuru felt for Shizu.
