You are right about it being fast. The first season is quite fast paced, but the other seasons will slow down to more normal anime speed

the second part is better, because it is more funny over the top story and one change I wont spoil. The first part is bit of self-parody as Mr. Speedwagon is describing everything in his overdramatized voice. The power and design of characters is also bit spoof on Fist of the north star series. Great manga, but the anime adaptation is dated, thou still some episodes super funny as well.
